Mao News - The 2011-2012 Season!

You're right, that was enetertaining. I wish Mao would keep TAT only as her exhibition choreographer, especially since Adelina is becoming senior next year and is one of the favourites for Sochi. I never understood how someone who makes such gorgeous programs like Por una cabesa, Caprice and last year's Ballade, can make such programs like lat year's short and also the olympic programs. That wasn't Mao and IMO it really hurt her score...
I wish someone would sent Mao to Camerlengo, now that would be AMAZING.

well i don't agree zarinaballerina bells of moscow is truly a unique program, that's different and memorable... and gives a completely different feeling from the usuel programs. it was really refreshing and creative. I find it really amazing to see how the skater who skatet to bells and masquerade is the same skater who has skatet to liebestraum and ballade, and i loove Mao for trying and experiencing as well as delievering such different kind of programs, she thereby reaches to a wide range of fans by skating to dark and light music, I for my part who was first captured by the Mao who was skating to dark music...

I love bells too, at first it was horrible, but come on, in the oly and worlds it wes exquisite, the dress its terrible, whatever. And the tango I believe that Mao contribute to the boring thing, she didn´t like it, obviously, but to do a effort like with masquerade would be better.
I don´t understand why Mao don´t go with a new coreagrapher?, even just for ex program.

ballerinamao, yes watching Mao do a "dark" themed program is nice, but I hated the costume and choreo could have been much better, that's why I don't understand how TAT can choreograph something like Por una cabeza..., and is lucklaster with the olympic programs, which are the most important.
For example Yuna's programs might have been easier on the tech side (on the paper Mao had and has the hardest programs) but choreo wise her programs were very good. She could afford mistakes and still scored well, while with Mao, if she skated clean, Bells was great but with mistakes she lost a lot. And judges didn't seem to like it either.
In the future I'd love to see Mao do something dark and dramatic, but without TAT.

What I wish if for Mao to have a new set of choreographers for next season... say Miyamoto and Camerlengo. Let them show new sides of Mao.

roma, if that happens, I think I'll be in heaven! That's my "dream team" for Mao.
Unfortunately Mao seems to be set on Lori and TAT.

I was just going to post the same thing lol if it was up to me to choose choreographers for Mao I would choose those two. On the other hand, it looks like most Lori's programs for Mao were very well received among the general skating fans. So if Mao doesn't want to change too much at once she could keep Lori for one program and choose someone else for the other. And let TAT do the exhibition.

I'm not too familiar with a whole lot of choreographers, but I know there are other good ones out there, and it would be good to see Mao do some programs with someone else.

Mao will attend PIW 4/28 and 4/29

if you are in Japan and want to get close to Mao and take pics of her (not with her), PIW is good choice.

Yay, that's great news. I hope she'll take a nice long vacation, get plenty of rest, eat lots of delicious food and come back stronger than ever!

Yuzuru got injury after worlds...not confirm but maybe it's too exhausted for him
I am so worry about Taka about the situation if he fails the expectation again...uh
Taka didn't show up in the press conference, maybe it's surprised for most of them
before announcement, I have a little hope to see Miki...I miss her. then have mixed feeling about wanting mao to attend or not. for now, it's nice to let her have time to take break.

I'm the one wanting Mao to take a rest and not attend WTT. But I have a feeling she will be there. For JSF and all sponsors, she's the money maker.

I want Mao to have a good rest, not overwork herself.

I don't want her to go either. She's not even being invited and required to be there, so I hope she just starts her vacation NOW. She doesn't need WTT. She needs a break. She very well may still be grieving her mom more than she lets on. She didn't take much time off from skating after she died. Some people say they get so wrapped up in obligations and other things after a loved one dies, they don't even have time to properly grieve for a while. Then when things wine down, it finally hits them. Maybe Mao needs this. I really have no idea. Maybe on the other hand, she needs to keep busy. I just hope that if she wants to take a break and not do WTT or as many (or even ANY) ice shows this off season, that she just does what she feels she needs and wants to do. Not what she thinks she is expected to do, or what will make everyone else happy.

Does anybody know if Mao is planning to eventually release her book that was originally scheduled to come out this past February?
