Basically they were saying Mao's good chances to qualify for GPF. They showed her result last year, and recaptured her two GPF wins during her first senior debut in 2005 and again winning the final in 2008. Mao said that after her good result in her first GP event this season, she intends to give her best in her 2nd assignment in Russia. Arakawa believes she has a good chance this year after what Mao showed in NHK, in which she didn't concentrate on the 3A but rather improving all the other aspects of her skating. They said Mao has improved a lot too since last year, and excited for her next event next week in Russia. \(^_^)/ Im running an errand right now, so sorry for the quick, brief translation.

I think yes, but the number of the points is also very important. I'm trying not to think about it now.

| Ok after my errands, dinner and work i reviewed again the clip above on Mao going into her next Russia GP event, and i think i left a few relevant things: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRwy3Ggom1Q&feature=youtube_gdata* Mao thinks that her love for skating hasn't change, and that the enjoyment she feels whenever competing hasn't also change. she loves skating, and enjoys competing. * Mao believes that if the start of the season is not good, it will be very hard to tell. But this season, she felt she made a good start at her first competition and that she feels and intends to keep this good start and good momentum going to her next event (Russia) * The fluff said that if Mao win her next competition in Russia, it will be after 3 years since she won her last GPF in 2008, it is also about 3 years after when she won the 2005 GPF, then winning it again in GPF 2008 in S. Korea. (I'm not sure what is it that they're implying here as if Mao was winning GPF every after 3 years or so, I just hope they are not pressuring Mao, more so jinxing her.) * They said that Mao has really worked hard, that's why she is smiling now, and that same smile is bringing all the people in Japan into smiles and providing power to all of us! * Lastly Arakawa said, that Mao doing her concentration on all her other jumps, aside from the triple axel is really doing such good improvements into Mao's skating as a whole. Arakawa also said that with Mao's current condition now, she can anytime challenge to include her 3A's in her programs. ( Please all the other Japanese Speaking members, please feel free to correct me if i am wrong with my understanding of the clip, i feel so tired and sleepy now, i hope I didn't make any mistakes. ) Also for those who can watch, Get Sports is doing another feature on Mao : Yay! more fluffs! 24:45 Get Sports; TV Asahi - Channel 5 on Japan digital TV ▽2年の不調を乗り越え…浅田真央、復活の軌跡 It will start in a few more minutes here.. (JST)

| this clip really shows that people an the media all expect Mao to win the GPF that really puts a lot of pressure on her! but as long as Mao feels confident I don't see anything stopping her! I better prepare myself mentally lol, it will be soo exciting and nerve racking to see Mao again, especially since she this time probably will go for the 3A i both the sp & fs... I want some practice clips lol | |

| Last night's TV ASAHI late evening news - Nov. 21 11月21日報道ステーションより https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-ka3BnJtsU&feature=youtube_gdatawhen asked about what yummy foods did she get to eat while in Sapporo for NHK? : Mao answered she ate 4 pieces of shishamo fishes (really small, only about 14 centimerters - size, willow leaf fishes) in Ponzu liquid seasoning! Mao is so cute, funny and her happiness/little joys are such simple and shallow. | |

At least she doesnt look like Dan Zhang.

She has skated almost every day since child, may be more before than now, and she was not like today tough may be she is ok because if she was sick couldn´t to do a lot of exercise, I only hope that she is fine, but I don´t believe that she is naturally so thin. changing the topic why Mao don´t come to America more?, I want know her, to go to Russia or Japan is very expensive

| Thank you, purplemaze, for translating the clip for us! I especially loved it when you said, "Mao has really worked hard, that's why she is smiling now." Reading this brought so much joy and happiness to me. : ) I love how Mao has a sky-high standard for herself, and only when she feels that she has worked herself to the extent that feels right to her would she feel joy. It's not the score that makes her feel happy or sad, but whether she has worked her hardest and fulfilled the goal for herself. She's got such a weighty sense of responsibility. And when she does feel that she has put in her utmost effort, her smile radiates, and that radiance is so real, so penetrating. I am just blow-away happy that she is gaining her confidence again, and I am so excited for her.

You're Welcome! @ inspiration: thank you for the nice words , actually it was Shuzo Matsuoka (the male caster in the clip) who phrased and said that quote, i just only wrote it in english here, for you guys Thank you for the appreciation though inspiration* and i most certainly agree with everything that you've said about Mao in your post. Let's all hope for the best for her, starting tomorrow in the SP, i am totally flustered and tense but at the same time also excited and looking forward to Mao's coming performances here in Rostelecom.

| There are some nice quotes from Mao and Adelina about each other in this article. http://www.goldenskate.com/2011/11/asada-takes-gold-at-cup-of-russia/ Mao on Adelina: - Quote :
- I first met her two years ago when I came to Russia to work with Tatiana Tarasova on choreography. I was very much impressed by how good she was. I am happy to be competing against her today. I like to have strong rivals. I think it will help us both to improve. In the past couple of years a number of strong Ladies have emerged in Russia, this kind of pressure pushes me to work even harder.
Adelina on Mao: - Quote :
- The first time I saw her I was like ‘Wow! Mao Asada is skating at our rink!’,” she said. “It was a great honor for me to be on the same ice as such a famous skater. It is also a great pleasure to be able to compete in the same competition as her now.
. Adelina's admiration for Mao is so sweet.

| I am sure that right now Mao is getting ready for the GPF but do you guys think that she will go back to japan and train or stay these to weeks in Russia to train, cause for me it seems like it waste of time to go back to japan and then to Canada afterwards, if she could just stay these to weeks and train ad get ready in russia! what do you guys think?
on a side note hope Mao doesn't overwork herself in these two weeks!
