actually she got injury before nats but she said that situation was not bad, the major issue is spiritual not physical.
she can't sleep well before nats due to pressure and in interview after competition yesterday, she said she felt her status is better but not ready for competition yet. in one of article she said it can't be any worse and she will remember the joy for skating and show that in next competition.

I really hope Akiko will be ready for 4CC, because the competition there will be a tough one: there will be no Ashley, but Mao, Gold, Kanako, Kaetlyn, Zijun Li, even Zawadzki and Gao can beat her if she skates like she did here... I don't want to see her off the podium again! And, the fact that she had an injury an Nationals makes me feel better about the terrible placement that she had there (if you can call a 4th place "terrible" )
I personally feel that after her GPF FS a bad period started for her: two falls there, and then at Nationals she's not able to do a 3-3 in the SP so she beats Mao just because she pops the loop, the FS is a nightmare and she announces that after Sochi she will retire (but this was not a surprise), and now two unsatisfactory programs here... I think that she should maybe go back to an easier SP with 3F+2T and 3Lo, at least the BV is higher than 3T+3T<< or 3T+2T just to make her less frightened about the competition...

'I have both bad and good sides in myself but they're both part of who I am, so I'll try to get along with the person I am'

I think she's trying to make peace with her recent bad results and become positive once again towards future competitions. I believe she's not a weak person, but she's probabaly one of the most mentally strongest female skaters of all time just considering how much she's accomplished up till her age now. Let's hope she does well in 4CC and Worlds.

I definitely love that quote from her and wish her all the best in 4CC and Worlds. I've been hoping to see her programs skated to their full potential this season along with Mao.

It's a graceful, mature SP. I was worrying it would be too much like an EX program. But no, it suites Akko perfectly!
I hope she'll have a fulfill last season as well.

I love both her programs to death, she is such a beautiful skater   
She had problems with the 3flips on the FS, such a pitty  

I really think Akiko can be a great choreographer after retiring. This girl has great music choices and she's always willing to experiment with different genres and different choreographers and her musicality is genuine. Please Akiko, be a choreographer.

Good point regarding Akiko becoming a choreographer pearlyriver. I haven't watched her new LP yet, but her SP performance was superb.

What's the name of Akiko's FS? She poured her heart and soul into the programs. She's still rocking at the age of 28.

Yes! Akiko skated a beautiful routine! I couldn't help but smile at the end! It's a compilation of music from the Phantom of the Opera, including Masquerade (music box version), Music of the Night, Think of me, Point of no return(?).
