I love the group number! I could swear, everytime Mao smiled audience started cheering. I love the costumes, it would be great if Mao would wear something like this next season. She looks amazing in this design. And her spiral and spread eagle , + 4GOE.

I'm surprised to see Johnny here, he never performs in an IMG SOI tour. Besides isn't he competing at US Nats or am I missing something?

This is so pretty! I love how relaxed Mao looks and her duet with Dai (and his straddle+3s)

And zarinaballerina, I agree that Mao's MITF deserve +4GOE

I went today 13th to SOI. Mao first showed up at the end of Act 1 in the collaboration number with Dai, Kanako and Canadian skaters. Dai performed a split jump very high with good back, then 3F and his feature combo spin, while he was doing it Mao was doing her spiral around him. When various skaters are on the ice at the same time, it's the perfect chance to see who is who: who is smoother, softer and sincere. Dai and Mao hit the top. Mao was in a pink gold dress. Gorgeous!
At the end of Act 2 Mao skated right after Dai who skated his SP and did great! But Mao skated her SP too! Not Mary Poppins. She went for 3A, did it downgraded and two-footed, she did 3F-2Lo with deep step out and touched ice with both hands, then she doubled her third jump. Mao is the best dancer among ladies now, great musicality, fully in character, fast choreo and much lightness. But jumps are her main and the only issue now. Real issue. Nevertheless the audience adores her as usual.

Thanks, let`s talk! What you are describing sounds like what would happen to Mao during a competition if she decides to go for 3A before it is ready, it will likely through off the rest of her jumps. I hope she understands it too. Thanks a lot for the report though I am also happy to see Mao staying healthy again. I know she has not been too thin for a while now, but I am still happy every time I see her having a proper weight, she looks beautiful now

let's talk, thanks for sharing! It would seem Mao's attempts at 3As in the program are still troubling her if not successful. But it's good that right now she's challenging it in shows. Better do it in shows than in competitions. For me, results are very important this year so better do that jump only when she's fully confident in it and has better success rates.

And that Take My Hand number... ah! Love it! Mao smiling brightly specially on that last part facing Dai (based on camera angle).

Is there a link only to Mao's performance? And, it's good that she's attempting the 3A in a lot of EX but, until she lands one (even if UR) in front of a public, it would be risky to attempt it in competition...
