3A looks excellent and so effortless. 3F-3L in the run-through would be UR (free leg toe-pick touched the ice too soon), but the one in this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c85-INUJcC0) video looked good. 3Lz also looked better than usual: Not a perfect outside edge, but not inside, either.
True, if only she can bring those out in competition... The 3F3L in this vedio (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dajvMl7yUI) seemed better with a clearer viewing angle, not sure if it was the same one as above though.

She's been skating last all season so far, SA, NHK, GPF, probably except for Jpn National? Plus, the skater with the best SP program of the season deserves to skate last ....please show your best, Mao!! I'm not surprised that Mae Meite is in the last group, as the referee of ladies' is French, IIRC...if Mae skates well, perhaps she'll be held up like Peter Liebers in men's?

I have mixed feelings about her skating last, I worry how the wait may effect her, and also because I remember once reading that she prefers to skate right after the official practice session, but thank you for reminding me that she has been skating last pretty much all season, and I agree Mao has such a beautiful program, leave the best for last!

I'm not surprised that Mae Meite is in the last group, as the referee of ladies' is French, IIRC...if Mae skates well, perhaps she'll be held up like Peter Liebers in men's? Nope. I completely agree. Like I've said a few posts ago, Mao skating after all the favourites is a good thing if she delivers. this way, the judges have seen them all and won't hold her down, so they can keep a room if others (yuna, Yulia, Adelina) deliver as well. I think that this is what hapened in Vancouver. Yuna's PB at the time was 76.15 (i think), so by keeping room for Yuna, they gave Mao "only" 73+, had she skated after Yuna, she would've scored 75+. IMO of course. As for Meite, didn't the skaters themselves draw the starting numbers? The groups were assigned to world ranking, so if you're top 12 at the ranking you drew the start number for the last two groups, if I'm not mistaken. I guess Meite got lucky. josling, thank you, thank you thank you, for the links!

I didn't like them, to be honest. IMO, they need a different program. man, my stream is awful today. So, my bet, IF Lena/Nikita skate clean, they'll win the bronze, no matter what the french team does.

| I/K were clean. thank God, I was worried what the judges would do in the ladies event to compensate if they wouldn't get a medal in Ice Dance.
110+ Come on, that's too much. They were great, but not perfect.

| Ok seriously? D/W were great, and all they get is a polite applause? No offense to all the russian posters on this board, but to be honest, I am deeply disapointed by the Russian audience. So far, this has been the worst audience at all the Olympic Games. Again, IMO of course. | |

And congratulations to D/W!!!! :cheer:I'll miss you and V/M after this season! I have no problem with them being nationalistic, though all that Rossiya chanting gets tiresome. You can be nationalistic and still show respect to other outstanding athletes. It's something people in this arena haven't learned.

| GOLD for Meryl and Charlie! Yes!!! Audience wasn't so supportive, though. Their support ended after the last Russian pair skated. V/M also skated beautifully but I really like D/W's FD more.

It's Lakernik, he's Russian. In the past he was known to be fair, but after the ladies team event, it looks like he switched to the dark side. i sincerely hope this was due to the Russians really wanting the team gold, and that he'll go back to his normal fair self in the ladies single event. he was also the tech caller in Vancouver if I'm not mistaken. Edit: here's the panel of judges. http://www.isuresults.com/results/owg2014/SEG003OF.HTM
