^I remembered reading somewhere (can't remember it now) that Philippe Candeloro once commented that Mao is his goddaughter on ice or something like that.

That's so sweet! Mao has such a kooky godfather, in that case. I'm still at his hopping antics on the ice at the end of the Lucky Star video

I'm relieved you all seem to like it...yeah, I'm the one who made it. It seems nobody pays attention to the name of the creator of YT vids. If you look closely, you'd have noticed it's in a channel with the same ID I use here, hehe!  

Sorry about pretending I wasn't. This was one vid I wasn't so sure whether it would be well accepted. It took me like over 5 months in total to complete, but when it was done, it suddenly seemed a bit silly...

I don't think I can ever make a second part.  
I was so worn out after I made it, and since it needed a lot of material, my PC drive got close to full, became very unstable and broke down once during the making. I had to re-install a new OS (took me 4 days in total to get my PC fixed)...geez, that was hell for me!  

Anyway, thanks for watching everyone. It's only after people tell me they liked it when I can feel a vid was worth making.

I make 2 kinds of Mao vids; the sort of artistic ones, and then the stupid ones using anime...and honestly, I prefer not to be known too much for the latter ones.  

I think the Melancholy (and Revival) of Mao Asada video was (no, IS) a brilliant way for showing your support for Mao. There were so many subtle details I just can't name them all in one viewing; one has to watch the video all over again! Thank you for taking the immense time and effort to make it, PochinkoPotanko!

I'm really happy you liked it.
I wanted to make a vid to show my support for Mao towards Sochi, but at first I wasn't intending to make another anime parody thing cause it takes so much time to just search for the parts in an anime which I can use. But I ended up doing a hell of a lot more than I planned to with the anime clips; cutting out the backgrounds, editing the character's voices for them to say 'Mao Asada' (those were nightmares, took me months to complete them, but the voices didn't come out perfectly...  ).

Still, I wanted to use 'Hare Hare Yukai' for the music no matter what. The lyrics are so full of who Mao is, and anime companies and distributors aren't that strict in having their stuff used in YT vids, so I was able to be sure that this video will not be deleted nor blocked on YT because of copyright issues.

I prefer making skating vids simply changing the music for performances, but ever since YT made that system to detect copyright music and visual footages, it's become more harder to do just that. Btw, to all the people here who are planning to make Mao vids for YT in the future, I strongly advise you not to use too much of footages from THE ICE show. Chukyo TV has all the rights for them, and boy they are so damn strict about THE ICE show footages being reused. They're not even a nation-wide tv station here, so they should give us all a break imo.

Lol, no! Wish I was. But I did major in film studies during my university years. Oh, and the arrogant assistant who helped me make this was my husband who also studied film then with me. Now, he's a CG creator who does a lot of anime jobs as much as film and commercial making jobs as well. He helped cut out the backgrounds of Mao skating 'I've Got Rhythm' which I used in the first half and also made the very last part where Mao's silhouette spins and her hair becomes a pony-tail. He can use more advanced software for pro use. It's good he comes in handy at times like this...hehe!
