| Can't wait to see Mao again! That's the first competition where I'm going to cheer only for Mao in ladies, Yuna and Ashley are not there, my Russian babies aren't there cause it's not for Europeans skaters Quite strange feeling) But men competition is going to be super cool!!! | |

| Yeah, go Mao, 4CC has been strange competition for her in 2011 and 2012, I just hope that she skates clean, so she can get high PCS, there is no Yu-Na or Ashley so she shouldn't have problems unless she bombs, especially with a Japanese crowd cheering for her! Who do you think is (are) Mao's biggest rival here? I would go with Gold: if she skates well, her TES can be higher than Mao's; and here are my hopes: 1: that Kaetlyn doesn't receive absurdly high PCS (at least not higher than Mao's, please!) 2: that Suzuki skates well... | |

| It will be interesting to see how the new skaters will be scored at 4CC. I feel like PCS scoring for competitions held in Japan is more or less fair compared to other competition venues. I just hope Mao will be in good shape, that she won't let her nerves get to her and that she won't let that 3A get too much on her nerves. She might attempt it there. it looked ok during nats practices but not goon in shows this January. Hopefully it'll be in better form next week. And since she went to Canada to have her short updated I also hope to see an updated costume. And I hope Akiko finally skates both programs clean. I'm getting worried about her. | |

| I don't get that you guys talking about is her 3a ready or not, accroding to show. It's not even practice, lights everywhere, and it was just an exhibtion. Liza who threw away a clean FS, poped almost every jump in exhibition, even 2a, so her 2a is not ready? | |

| I think that trying the 3A in the SP and avoiding it in the FS would be a good strategy: even an UR 3A has a higher score than a 2A, and 7 triples in the FS are good enough to make her win... | |

I think that Kaetlyn is probably more of a rival for gold than Gracie is, if only for her consistency but Gracie can't be counted out either. It should be pretty exciting, even without Yuna or Ashley competing there. Excited to see Mao compete again

Excited to see Mao compete again Yes, but Kaetlyn program is so juniorish, I honestly don't see her getting the PCS anywhere near Mao. Let's not forget, Skate Canada is ALWAYS very generous to their skaters, I don't see this happening at 4CC, nor worlds. There isn't a judge on this Planet that could got away with explaining why Kaetlyn got 66 in PCS. Now TES is a different story. I just want to see Mao giving us 2 amazing performances and not get overwhelmed by 3A. And like I said at Europeans board, if Caro got 70 in PCS for that program, then I fully expect to see Mao get 69+ for hers.

I think it should be pre-4cc news Thanks for posting this clip, it's always nice to get some news of Mao. I really loved seeing Mao's reaction when she went for the 3A and when she landed it, she looked so happy. seeing this clip makes me soo eager to see her recent practice clips, I wonder if Mao is going to reveal her layout before competition.

I think it should be pre-4cc news Thanks shikure for the link. Mao says almost the same thing she's said after nationals: she wasn't sure how much she'd be able to return to her former state before the season started. She's happy that she was able to win but she's blow the level she used to be. Throwing in difficult jumps she used to do and nailing them will finally make her achieve 100%. She wants to work hard and do it consistently to succeed 3A in the latter half of the season. That's her biggest target for the season. After competing in Sochi, her ambition for Olympics has intensified. Next year will be the critical season. She wants to make full recovery in the latter half of this season and keep that momentum into the onset of the next season. Go Mao!

This. SUCKS. Also, any reason why Jeremy ISN'T on that replacement list?? wow what happened? No clue... USFSA hasn't even released a statement about it yet. I guess we will just have to wait for news. I have a feeling that Jeremy is furious right now - WHAT is with USFSA's habit of promoting their poster children? Yes, Ricky came in sixth... not as bad as last year... but 4CC is quite a prestigious competition, so why didn't they put their third place winner as first alternate? Or better still, have let him gone to the competition in the first place? UGH! Sorry for my rant.

By juniorish I meant the placement of her jumps, it's all or almost all in the first half of the program. her jumps are big and she's very enthusiastic in her skating, but there's no refinment in her skating (yet), and while she does look fearless and it is refreshing to see this, it's not enough to warrant high scores for SS, TR... This is only my opinion, of course. And I agree with you about Mao's SP. It's so lovely to see her charming smile and this program has grown on me from the start of the season, however I'd much better prefer if Lori hadn't given her such juniorish looking choreography. Seriously, this program reminds of Mirai's when she skated to the same music, I believe she was 14 at that time...?

This. SUCKS. Also, any reason why Jeremy ISN'T on that replacement list?? The second year in a row that Ricky enters 4CC as an alternate replacing someone else... And, I think that (for some reason) Jeremy chose himself not to compete here... (It would be a scandal if USFSA chose not to send him at 4CC nor Worlds!)
