| Shouma Uno (who won Japanese Novice recently) is in 4th place after the SP. Meanwhile Yuzuru is, of course, unchallenged and looking for a win. Junior men 1 Yuzuru Hanyu 76.00 44.20 31.80 6.45 6.10 6.40 6.45 6.40 0.00 #27 2 Kento Nakamura 64.65 37.00 28.65 5.95 5.50 5.65 5.80 5.75 1.00 #22 3 Ryuichi Kihara 53.20 26.80 26.40 5.55 5.00 5.20 5.35 5.30 0.00 #25 4 Shouma Uno 52.95 28.60 24.35 4.95 4.60 4.95 4.95 4.90 0.00 #19 Junior ladies 1 Kanako Murakami 58.96 35.20 23.76 6.00 5.70 5.90 6.05 6.05 0.00 #28 2 Yukiko Fujisawa 51.20 31.00 20.20 5.20 4.90 5.05 5.10 5.00 0.00 #16 3 Haruka Imai 49.82 29.70 21.12 5.50 5.10 5.25 5.25 5.30 1.00 #11 Kanako + Yukiko. I was hoping to see better scores from Karen Kemanai and Roannasari Oshikawa (who both did excellently in regionals), but we'll see what happens! - MikiAndoFan#1 wrote:

| Kanako skated clean free program and she won!!! She really has great consistency this year. Yukiko fell on her 2A and she was third overall. Total Scores Kanako Murakami 165.85 Haruka Imai 143.97 Yukiko Fujisawa 135.27 Yuzuru didn't skate his best today. He fell on his second 3A but managed to win the event. Kento Nakamura wins the FS and he was second overall. Yuzuru Hanyu 194.15 Kento Nakamura 186.21 Shoma Uno 148.04 | |

| Congrats to Kanako and Yuzuru! Kanako mentioned how making her jump entrances shorter has done wonders to her jumping consistency, and it's really showing this season. Karen Kemanai was actually 3rd in the free but her 14th place start in the short did a lot of damage to her overall standings. Unlike last year, the top skaters here fall in quite nicely with those who performed well at the JGPF, so that's a bit of a relief to see. ETA: Apparently only 5 of the top junior ladies here (who have not competed in novice level competitions) will be invited to Nats. | |
