Kanako is the first right now with 58.96 and Yukiko Fujisawa is second with 51.20.
Yuzuru is the men's leader he got 76.44!

Shouma Uno (who won Japanese Novice recently) is in 4th place after the SP. Meanwhile Yuzuru is, of course, unchallenged and looking for a win.

Kanako + Yukiko. I was hoping to see better scores from Karen Kemanai and Roannasari Oshikawa (who both did excellently in regionals), but we'll see what happens!

Fuji TV usually broadcasts the top skaters in ladies and men but in their usual delayed format. It took a while for videos to make their way onto YT, FSU etc. so we'll have to wait.

ETA: There's no official announcement from Fuji TV yet, but the junior championships aired a few days before senior Nats (and at midnight, may I add) for the last two years so I'm expecting this year to be no different.

Thanks clovera. Midnight in Japan? haha! for once, this will be a decent time for me!

Kanako skated clean free program and she won!!! She really has great consistency this year. Yukiko fell on her 2A and she was third overall.

Yuzuru didn't skate his best today. He fell on his second 3A but managed to win the event. Kento Nakamura wins the FS and he was second overall.

Congrats to Kanako and Yuzuru! Kanako mentioned how making her jump entrances shorter has done wonders to her jumping consistency, and it's really showing this season. Karen Kemanai was actually 3rd in the free but her 14th place start in the short did a lot of damage to her overall standings.

Unlike last year, the top skaters here fall in quite nicely with those who performed well at the JGPF, so that's a bit of a relief to see.

ETA: Apparently only 5 of the top junior ladies here (who have not competed in novice level competitions) will be invited to Nats.
