A gorgeous piece...

I can't believe I did not know this piece... It's so beautiful that it brought tears to my eyes multiple times. I was sitting at my desk with my mouth hanging open for the 10 minutes it lasted and than for the 15 mintes it took me to gather my wits.

Thanks so much for the link, chiyo-chan! Gorgeous indeed! Though I admit I am extremely partial to the violin, as it is the only instrument I've ever attempted to learn.

But my favorite "Chaconne" is Bach's, the one for solo violin (Partita No. 2 in D Minor). I don't think anyone could ever skate to it, but the pure genius of its construction is extraordinary...some consider it to be 'the holy grail' of violin playing...and it's certainly my favorite Classical piece EVER!
