Of course, Han Yan had this one in the bag. It seems he didn't do so good here, what with not even breaking 60 in the SP and barely over 132 in the FS, but still, he's just so much stronger than the others. Yuzuru could have destroyed this field and given some motivation to Han Yan. Was he not eligible? What's the age limit? 16?

That's great for Shoma! Yes, in singles the age limit is 16, in pairs it's 18.
