that was a total mess of a performace full of fall and doubles, what the heck has happened to her jumps!

She never had the greatest jump technique - her openings were too long, drawn out, and over-cautious. She just needs to go for it.

yeah i know that her jumps havealways been a headcase, but that was a total splatfest... seriousy she is in big trouble if she doesn't fix it soon, cause with those jumps it will be impossible for her to make the world team heck even be in the top 20 in nationals cause seriously that was a very very weak performance with absoulutely no content...

I think this may be Ashley's and Mirai's time to make the world team! question is just wheter they will take it, or let some f the younger ones take it!

I also think this could be Ashley's and Mirai's time, but I honestly think this title is up for grabs! The US has so many talented ladies but you never know what they are going to do! Guess it will come down to whoever can skate best under pressure. Whoever ends up making the world team, I hope they can secure three spots for the world team next year.

Wow, that was difficult to watch. I don't undesrtant what judges see in her, it's just skating around with endless jump preparation and fast spins. Oh yeah, and she looks pretty.

ballerinamao and skating_fanatic, don't forget that international judges love Scizny and American judges (or federation) adore her (although I don't understand why), therefore I think they'll give her a HUGE pcs boost if necessary, to ensure that she's on the team. I mean, she's won 09 nats with 3 triples!

I really hope Mirai has an awesome skate at nats (sp and lp) and even though I'm not a fan of Ashley, at this point I prefer her over Alissa. At least she's trying different types of program, while Alissa is just same old pretty princess in every program. It's getting boring...

well zarinaballerina there is no PCS boost that can save alissa with those jumps, unless the whole competition is a total splatfest which is pretty unlikely. actually that wasn't even jumping, it was falls and doubles and even the doubles looked really bad. it seems like she suddenly lost the ability to jump, and if she has any hope of continue competing and having a decent skate she needs to have help from a jump specialist asap. and i agree her programs all remind me of each other and are pretty forgetable and boring after my taste. anyway will be interesting to see how this competition develops with this completely unpredictable field...

I agree. The dress does need to go. It looks like a see through night gown with undies underneath...

If Alissa jumps at nationals the way she jumped at this exhibition, she wont go to worlds, however, if she'll have at least a few triples I'm afraid the federation will make sure she's on the team. Don't forget, she won her first title with only 3 triples. If she has a clean short, who knows what kind of huge score she'll receive.
