"Mao Asada Dream Lab"

According to this article, Mao's getting her own TV show!!

Well, sort of.

On TBS they'll be airing a 5 minute program called "Mao Asada Dream Lab" every Sunday from April 19 until the Olympics!

The program will show Mao's training with Makino-trainer.

Yay, that means we'll be guaranteed at least one Mao clip every week!! Excited!

Well, I'm glad that we could get more information about Mao especially in off-season.
But I think that she gets too much attention. I mean I'm afraid that this will put much more pressure on her shoulder. After world, I consoled myself that at least those medias and federation officials will not give mao too much pressure. But seems it is not......I hope that it is me that worry too much.

That's a good point. I'm not sure how they're going to do the little programs when Mao is training in Russia...it would be nice to see footage of Mao training in Russia, but you're right, I hope it isn't too much of a bother for Mao! But then again, it might be a nice break from lots and lots of practice.

That's great! I hope someone uploads the episodes onto Youtube. Something to look forward to regarding Mao.

Mao doesn't say anything really interesting - just the same stuff about having a renewed feeling after the Chuukyou entrance ceremony. They talk about working hard for the Olympics, and how this year's free program required a lot of strength/endurance, but she thinks it will translate into the Olympics.

The most hilarious part is when Makino was using that block to measure how far Mao can stretch with her legs straight in front of her. Mao was like, "my forehead is going to hit it [the end of the measuring pole]," and then "I hit it!" And then she put her head under the pole and was like "But actually I can do it this way." I guess the average person who uses that block is not nearly as flexible as Mao!!

The subject of Dream Lab in this week is Mao's health care.

Mao was cooked for oneself during the season.
She said she wants to buy a pressure cooker and a steam cooker.

Mai, Mao's sister, also said Mao is good at cooking before.
After she had returned to Japan, Mao seems to have improve her cooking skill.

Mao mentions that her hips/lower back no longer hurt now that she's been doing the training. (She's mentioned this in the article about her training.)

It's always neat to see vids of Mao training - she seems to do interesting exercises!

Its really great to be able to see something new from Mao every week even though it's low season. Mao's stretches seem really fun and entertaining, and her trainer seems to really care about her progress. It's assuring to know she's getting top-of-the-line conditioning.

I don't think so, unfortunately! Most of these clips were on the Weider blog before - only this recent one looks like something I hadn't seen before, and I'm guessing they won't show her on the ice. Too bad...

Even so, it would be cool to see her training in Russia! Maybe jogging around Moscow or something?
