igoogle theme for Mao...

If you don't know what igoogle is here is a little about it: It's a personalized homepage where you can add all sorts of things like weather, news, entertainment news, movie times, etc. I have figure skating updates on mine! You can even add games and little widgets. You can personalize your igoogle page with themes, many of which are user made.

Has anyone tried making an igoogle theme? I have, and it never wants to accept any of my pic files. Otherwise, it's prety fast and simple. One theme I tried to make was a Mao theme. There's lot's of talented people on here who I know could make a really good one. Many of the creations I've seen on here by people like Okami could be made into great igoogle themes (with their permission of course!).

Like I said, I've tried doing this, and have had no luck. Would anyone else like to create one? I for one would definitely use it on my igoogle. Come on, there's already a Yuna theme... lol

I didn't realize the custom feature [where you make your own and not the few available themes I've tried] is already available in Google.

Tried making one an hour ago but I still get "Your theme is being created. To see it, refresh the page in a few minutes." message. Maybe I'll check tomorrow if it's finally available...

Wow, iGoogle is fun!

I submitted 2 (very simple) skins yesterday, but they do not show up in the themes directory yet... If they do finally show up, I'll send some more sophisticated skins coded in xml.

It seems like a hit-or-miss to get your pictures submitted. I'll be on the lookout for Mao themes. And try one myself maybe (but it won't be too fancy xD).

Okami: Your themes are up! They are not under "newest" yet, but you can find them when you search for Mao Asada and figure skating. They look good! I added the blue one to my igoogle.

yeah... not sure whether submissions will get accepted. It's still showing "Your theme is being created. To see it, refresh the page in a few minutes." and it's been more than 24 hrs. already.

I did try the xml version and it works but I didn't submit it as the image I used is the one I've submitted using google's theme maker.

While we don't have an approved Mao theme yet, I'm using that temporarily.

I really like your theme Roma! I can't find it when I search for it though, and therefore there's no way for other usesrs to add it yet Hopefully it gets accepeted soon without any more hassle...

They still do not show up for me, though. I get a "We're sorry, we were unable to find any content containing the words "Mao Asada"" message. Maybe they are invisible for me because I made them..? But how I am supposed to use them, then? (I have switched themes after sending them to check out other themes in the directory).

I'll try doing the xml version, at least I'll be able to use it myself as well. But I hope they will show up eventually for me as well.

Roma, your theme looks very nice! I hope it will show up in the theme directory eventually. Maybe somebody checks the themes manually to see if they are TOS compliant? (No pornographic content, etc.) If so, it might take a long time for the theme to be available to the public.

I just reused my Mao wallpaper and made it into a header image.

Okami I love both themes you've made! Can't decide which one to use for now... I love pink/red but I also love the cool colors of the aqua theme.

It's very easy - IF you can get the program to accept your picture files, unlike me!

First, you have to have a google account. Once you do, you should see an option to creat an igoogle page, and on the igoogle page, you should see an option to personalize you page, and add a theme. When you're searching for a theme, there is an option to create your own theme.

It looked pretty easy to create one after you get past the picture part.

My Mao iGoogle theme finally got accepted (but the little banner thumbnail looks cropped). It'll probably look cropped also -- half of Mao -- for screens less than 1280x800.
