| Since the juniors aren't covered on the other thread. Results PageT/T are currently in 2nd after Sui/Han - both pairs were the highlights in the junior division today. Yuzuru is 3rd after the SP - he stumbled a bit on his spins, and his combination was a 3-2 (tano) which explains why Nan Song and Ross Miner are in 1st and 2nd, respectively. We'll see what happens in the Free Skate. | |

| Hehe... I totally forgot that the Junior Grand Prix Final will be held along with the Senior GPF in Tokyo. I was quite surprised to read on tweets about Nan Song and Ross Miner in 1st and 2nd at Junior Men. I was wondering what happened to Yuzuru Hanyu. So he's in third... But it's good to know the point difference between the top 3 ain't big. I hope they all have a very good free skate. | |

| Junior Ladies' SP just ended. Kanako is in second but it's a very close fight bet. her and Polina Shelepen with only 0.02 diff.

| Stiff competition from the top 2 competitors in both the Ladies and Ice Dance. Both Kanako and Polina landed the 3-3 (not sure about ratifications and DG's until we get to see the protocols) and both did great! Let's hope the seniors can keep the momentum going and bring a great competition. | |

Is it just me or does much of the the junior circuit seem more interesting to watch than the senior circuit this year?

I'm very happy the medaled this season, as they finished fourth at last year's JGPF. I am not worried about them being capable of beating M/K and I/N. Clearly today they did not perform to their full potential, only garnering a level 2 on their diagonal step sequence which is completely out of character for them. Usually they change holds and keep them like nobody's business. Maia & Alex are perfectionists, so no doubt they will be taking these results (whether it was a shock to them or they just didn't feel "on top of their game") and using them as a good excuse to raise the difficulty level and polish the programs even more. Still, the top two teams didn't beat the Shibutanis personal best scores set back in September. In the FD all teams were within 2 points away from each other in the TES, PCS and total so it was a close, and exciting competition. Of course, congrats to the Russian teams who won, and very rightfully so ... .... but watch out at Junior Worlds Disclaimer: This post is comes from a very, very pro-Shibutani/ Shibutani-centric mind. Therefore...nothing personal against the winning teams who did great!ETA: Oh! And congratulations to Kanako!! She's amazing and I am amazed with her speed and the overall fluidity of her movements and jumps. Not to mention I love her personality and outlook what moxie!

They do seem to peak right around JW, so I'm not worried either. Still, very good competition from the top 3 Junior ID teams. Congrats to Kanako! There was a surprise fall during her SLSS but her ice coverage and flow on the jumps gave her enough of an edge to win. Her 3T-3T in the SP was also ratified. I'm also happy to see Angela skate well here, but Kiri had a meltdown again. Paulina was clearly nervous and she struggled with the jump landings, but she was able to hold things together for a close 2nd place finish. Unless USFSA chooses to send some of the senior girls back *yet again* (e.g., Mirai, CaroZ etc.), the ladies event is looking to be a two-way battle between Kanako and Polina at JW.
