Lovely performance, although I agree the camera work is shocking.

I was surprised to see the triple axel at the end rather than the beginning. Which kind of got me to thinking....if she can land a triple axel after nearly 4 mins of skating - ok it was 2footed badly but still - maybe this was a test of sorts and team Mao are planning a surprise for 4CC and Worlds????

Mao is the only skater I know who can just totally revamp her jump layout and then nail it in competition right off. She did it at GPF. Do you think there's a chance we may see something else new next month? Like a second triple axel?

It would be fun to see. Smile

But I doubt it is possible considering the LP's choreography. About the only place where the second 3A could do is to replace 2A-2L-2L with 3A-2T-2L, nad it's just after 3F-3L... It might be too tiring. Plus I really like the rhythm of 2A-2L-2L and the edgework that preceeds it - it works really well with the music.

Plus, I think Mao would like to get 3S i her program first... Before GPF she said she was working on bringing back in her programs 3T and 3S and she got 3T in her LP soon afterwards. Even 3S, I thunk, will be very difficult to be included in the choreo - the only place I can see it is to change 3L to 3S and 2A-2L-2L to 3L-2L-2L - but 3L is right after spirals so I don't know if placing a newly aquired jump there would work well.

This choreo is just way too busy Laughing

But next season maybe two 3A would be possible cherry
