| Caro scored 70 points for her SP with 3Lo, 3T+2T and 2A, level 4 for her step sequence with +2.10 GOE and a 10.00 for IN!! Obviously an inflated score, but her program has been amazing! She will have the FS today in 90 minutes, plus or less... | |

| That's a very high score for just a 3T+2T combo. But then that SP is really wonderful. I hope to see a video of it soon. Are there protocols out for the SP also? | |

Yes, you can find the protocols here: http://application.fisg.it/results/2905/index.html level 3 in the layback (as usually) and in the CCoSp (she had a shaky entrance), +2 for the loop and the 2A and +1 for the combo... Now, she's on the ice for the FS warm-up (http://www.idealweb.tv/live/)!

| FS Score: 143.56 TES: 66.92 PCS: 76.64
Did she skate clean? The PCS is off the charts, though -- way higher than Yuna's Oly FS PCS.

I have started to like Kostner's skating! Her two programs are amazing. She managed to make Bolero interesting, which is almost impossible to do if you're not Torvill and Dean.

| when i first learned she will be competing with bolero, i thought oh no why such an overused piece of music there's no way it's going to be amazing! but carolina proved me wrong and i'm so glad she did! personally, i think carolina has the strongest two programs in competition this season. i hope that lori can choreograph something amazing for mao next season like she did for carolina this season instead of holding mao back. | |

| Don't want to sound mean or anything to Lori, but I think these programs come more from Carolina herself not Lori. I think it was her ideas and I'm almost sure she participated in choreographing them, a lot. | |

I don't know how the program creating process looked for Caro and Lori this season, but the moment I saw Caro's SP, I knew it was Lori's work. The music is (mostly) from the CD "Devil Dance" by Gil Shaham, it's one of Lori's favorite CDs. She used music from it for Mirai, the Zhangs, Mira Leung and now Caro (and probably some less known skaters I forgot about now). Here is Mira Leung's SP from Canadian Nationals 2009: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_aL594ApmcThis program really stuck in my memory. I thought the choreo was great, especially the intro, the part starting from 1:30 and the step sequence. Sadly, at that time Mira was in the Canadian judges' bad books because of the conflict between her mum and the federation (and Mira's awful jumping technique caused by training without coach and while wearing a heavy safety helmet). By the time Mira tried to make some changes to her skating, it was too late. As for Caro's LP, it seems to me that it was inspired by Bejart's modern ballet set to "Bolero". Here's my favorite performance by Maya Plisetskaya: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4By8410RjZMPerhaps we'll learn more about the genesis of the program later in the season.

| Although I am not a Caro-fan but WOW! I fell in-love to her Bolero. I really enjoy watching her. It has a lot more potential than Yuna's Les Miserables. I must say that this is one of my favorite programs for this season (including Mao's swan lake).
Caro's jumps have great height. I hope Mao can do better on this.

It's interesting to note she's also won all of her competitions so far and that like Mao she's already skated it clean (except Euros). The FS hasn't been skated to its full potential yet. Well, there's ITA nats but she didn't have her 3F+3T there. She only did a 3F+2T but it was a perfect skate. This time even if the skate ain't perfect she attempted a 3F+3T.
Worlds will be very exciting. And she really is a beautiful and feminine jumper, like Mao.

Worlds will be very exciting. Thanks for the video, roma! It's a good idea for Caro to change back to the purple dress in the SP. I think the (white-red) one she wore at Euro is not as good as this purple one! Having watching Caro live during last World, I really admire her for challenging the 3Lz to make the full set of jumps. At the moment, I'd think Caro and Mao are the only two contenders who can actually challenge the championship this year!

| Carolina modified her Sherezade program and it looks a lot better, . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cIoOnHw31galthough I don´t know her intentions, because it last as 3min 20 sec, and few jumps, may be she modified it to be only ex program | |

| That was quite something . Incredible improvement in terms of choreography since her last appearance. I've always preferred Mao and Yuna over Caro, but I honestly think that technically she is the most complete of the three. Just as shar has said, her problem is her inconsistency, but her jumps are one of the best, not to talk about her skating skills. I think that sometimes people confuse good technique with consistency or jumping ability/easiness. Caro is not consistent with her triple-triples recently because of her age (not saying she's old but obviously jumping becomes more difficult with age) but not because her technique is inferior to Yuna's. Thinking about Caro's jumps, they are all great: her double axel is really beautiful with great flow and speed, toe loop fine, loop very good, salchow one of the best, the same for the flip and the lutz, as she proved last season, is among the very very best. Spins are not extraordinary, but spiral sequences are decent and steps sequences (when the choreography is adequate to her type of skating) are gorgeous IMO. I wish her the best in Sochi. I hope she can get a medal, she deserves it after so many years of good skating | |
