| Wow! If somebody next season tells me that Mao learned to fly, I'll have no reasons to doubt them! The planned element sheets are up, but Mao seems to not have submitted hers: http://web.icenetwork.com/events/detail.jsp?id=50286There goes my hope that we'll know Mao's planned elements before the long program starts... ETA: Bibi was faster... | |

Yes I noticed that too! YuKo Kawaguchi had that too at Skate Canada practice... It it maybe because her tights were getting used too much I can't waiiiiiiiiiiit for practice videos!! I don't understand why it takes so long!!

| According to this article, Mao's practice didn't go well in terms of the jumps -- she missed a few. Mao (implicitly) attributed that to her pre-competition nerves. After all, this is her first competition of the season. Hang in there Mao! | |

| If it makes you feel any better, Mao's practice in the morning of her 2007 Worlds LP didn't go well, either. But, she skated a near-perfect program when it counted. Conversely, her practice reports from 2007 TEB were stellar while it is my guess that Mao wouldn't pick 2007 TEB as one of her best competitions. So, practices are just practices. They are not necessarily good indicators of how skaters actually perform in the competition. : ) Having said that I always love to know how practices went just like everyone else! | |

| A big thanks to all the practice reports and vids Competition starts more or less in 16 hours (for the men) and I'm already nervous, hahaha. I'll plan to do PBP for Mao's SP and upload the SP vids on sendspace for those who won't be able to follow the competition live. Not so sure about youtube yet...I'll probably just give bogus names to the skater and "rename" TEB so it'll be hard to locate for USFSA/TV Asahi etc. and hater bots (e.g., "Renee Degenavishvili" instead of Elene G.) | |

| Gorgeous 3L! So effortless! And of course, 3A-2tano was fantastic. - clovera wrote:

- another clip
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atD0j4NWjkc I miss seeing the 'Tano jump in competition. Now that I think about it, I think only Yukari does the "hand up" landing on a jump for the ladies right now, in her LP. Irina Slutskaya's spiral landing on her 2A on her Totentanz SP was simply gorgeous. I won't mind seeing more of those!

I miss seeing the 'Tano jump in competition. (...) Yeah, it's pretty rare! Nanoha Sato did a 'Tano 2Lz in her LP at junior Nationals 2006. Too bad she struggles with her jumps now, because she had a lovely style. Nobunari had a great 3S-2T combo with hands behind his back. In practices, he had all sorts of funny entrances, air positions and landings. Too bad he doesn't seem to use them now, after switching to gloomy programs. Well, the landings are still mint: 01 02And Midori's 2Lz with both hands over head were, of course, spectacular! If I am brave enough, I'll watch the competition live on EuroSport... It is however more likely that I'll keep z4mboni company in some nice, dark hole. Worlds 2007 made me superstitious.

Is it on internet? I want so badly to find a way to watch it online live.. because I don't have school tomorrow so I was hoping to watch the ladies SP, but I just saw that cbcsports.ca only show the Long programs... !!! AAaa! I want to find a way so badly! Edit: I just found out this: http://www.onlinetvspot.com/page.php?126 Do you think it's the one who'll show Short Programs tomorrow?

| It's worth to try! Sometimes those links tend to die just in time for the competition, though, because the ES blocks them. They want people to subscribe. I haven't managed to found any free link that wouldn't die on me this year. (Last year, there were a few - TRT3, daum...) | |

Where will you watch it? I had very bad luck with trying out free live feeds in the past, so I gave in and have Russian WebTV this year. I'll probably watch the TV Asahi broadcast too, as much as I hate Shuzo Matsuoka as a "commentator." Hope there's a free link somewhere that won't die this comp for those who are searching!! - Quote :

I remember the one she did at the OP for 1988 olys...just amazing!
