| Hello, everyone. I was wondering if someone knew of a website that featured a lot of original Mao fan art (besides this forum ). Like an imageboard or a specific forum. Anything would be helpful, thank you! | |

| There's some creative artwork of Mao (and other skaters as well) on pixiv, which is more or less the Japanese counterpart of deviantART. Unfortunately there's no English navigation and requires registration before one can view anything. There's also the Gangare Mao-tan Fansite, which periodically posts Mao collages and wallpapers: http://blog.goo.ne.jp/ossai_maomaotaishi | |

There's some really beautiful artwork on pixiv and some are just...interesting Also, does "Gangare Mao-tan!" come from what a young child might yell out to Mao? That was my first thought when I saw the title!

No problem! As far as I know, the honorific "-tan" has its origins in infants mispronouncing another common honorific used for endearment, which is "-chan." It's commonly used amongst netizens and fans of anime/manga. Oftentimes the "-tan" honorific is also intentionally misspelled (or more specifically, making use of a similar, but phonetically incorrect katakana letter) to "-taso" (i.e., タソ or タソ instead of タン), as is the case with the Gangare page. That said, it's probably best to not utter "-tan" in real life or when cheering on Japanese skaters in person. It's a lot more safer to just stick with Mao-chan!

This one is my favourite: https://2img.net/r/ihimizer/img340/9393/9207422.jpg! I just love how Mao is between Evgeni and Takahiko!
It's one of my favs too it's so cute. Takahiko is serious even in fan art. I love fan art When I found more I'll post here. I have a lot of Mao+Plushenko. People loves to draw them together I love them both so I don't care

| So here are a few that I uploaded. Team Japan
Male Figure Skaters and Quatchi (Adorable!)
Japanese Ladies: Fumie, Akiko, Mao, Miki, and Yukari.
Japanese Men Cheering for the Ladies at the Olympics.
Nobu, Dai, Taka-chan, Akiko, Mao & Miki.
Morosov Lesson
For Mao-Taka shippers: Mao-Taka bunnies!
I archived all the FanArt I’ve found on the net with WINRAR. If anyone is interested, you can download it here. You’ll need to extract it with WINRAR or some other similar software. The password to open the file is mao
I was very surprised by the amount of Plushenko fanart by Japanese Artists. There may be more Plushenko fanart than Mao fanart. I don’t know. I did not count and compare. I did not get all the stuff because there is just too much. Even so, there is a lot of fanart in WINRAR archive.

I remember a program about him at russian MTV, and there he said that he really likes Japan and japanese fans are very supportive.
