| Yeah, everything has been very quiet on Mao's end, but I bet that's because she's been working hard and focusing all of her energy on preparing for Worlds. I can't wait to see her next week- can you guys believe it's the end of the season already? BTW, will there be a Team Trophy competition this year? It would be nice to see her again after Worlds. | |

| Thank you clovera for the excellent explanation! I haven't seen any articles about Mao recently either...I guess she's hard at work. But Taka-chan just left for Worlds! http://www.sponichi.co.jp/sports/news/2010/03/19/24.htmlHe said he wants to land the quad again. I guess Mao is going at the last minute as usual! As bibi said, no WTT this year, but I wonder if they'll all get to be on Tokyo Friend Park this year, because THAT was awesome!!! | |

| Things have really been quiet on Mao's side. I wonder if Mao has already begun looking for a Japanese coach. | |

| I knew it. Post olys Worlds are always like this. In the end, everyone ends up questioning the gold medalists' efforts, saying they won because x and y weren't there. I hate it. | |

| No matter what anyone tells me, I really do not think Yuna as a great skater. I accept that her 3-3 is the best, but everything else is rather mediocre. I do not like her spiral position or spin position. They are not as good as Mao's. For months, media started to portray Yu-na as the best skater in the world. Korean media did it big time and so did American media as well., They enphasized so much on how wonderful her triple jumps were. They tried to match up with Mitchelle Kwan which made many people who does not know much about skating believe that Yu-na is something unbelievable. They made people believe she is beautiful skater which she is not anything extraordinary. They say she is beautiful. Yes. she is, but just like anyone else. You know her face is not that pretty especially without make up. They could have done that for Mao, if they wanted to, They could have made a real big deal about Mao's triple axel jumps and made people believe that she is the BEST skater in the world. They could talk about her one-hand biellman spin just like caroline's pearl. The media could have set up Mao as the Queen instead of Yu-na. The judges could have given her MORE GOE on her 3axels and spins and so on, but they did not want to. That could have given Mao more confidence this season and ultimately brought her to win Olympic gold. I felt everything was set up for Yu-na to win. I accept that Yu-na did a clean program at the Olymnpic so she deserved to win. But if Mao had 5points lead at the short program, she might have won the gold. I have a feeling it has something to do with money. How many people made money out of Yu-na? Can you imagine? I am sure Korea did everything they could to get more attention on Yu-na than Mao. It was too obvious by watching NBC,too. I got disgusted by unfair comments by Scott Hamilton. I bet you he will also make a lot of money by being invited by Yu-na's show or something. I love to see how much he makes out of her or maybe he has been making already. I wonder how much Korea paid Mitchelle to show up at her ice show. Besides the pressure from Korea , I am very sure they did not want 2 Japanese olympic gold medalist consecutively with the same Russian coach. I just feel Mao was unlucky, The timing was bad. That is why I do not think Mao can win at the World even though Mao is much surperior skater to Yu na. More money into more people's pockets if Yuna wins again. I just resent this unfairness. | |

| MOACHANTHEBEST,I couldn't agree more.I think Yuna is a "mediocre" skater, I don't understand the hype. She's not better than the other skaters.I always watch her performances trying to see what is so amazing about her but I just dont see it.I hate to see Mao get beaten by her once again at worlds, that's why I was hoping Mao wouldn't go...But hopefully she'll skate two clean programs. | |

| alessandras, thank you for your comment. Yuna is a good skater. She is a good 3-3toe jumper.but I can not say more than that. Her spins are not better than Alissa's or Mirai's or even Mao's. Her spiral is not as good as Sasha's or Mitchelle's. I looked at her edge changes 100time on the video and I did not see anything special. It is just illusion which the media created to make people believe that Yuna is something out of the world. | |

| YuNa is a beautiful skater. I wish she would skate to a tango like in 2007. I thought her programs were magical ! And I wished Mao would go back to Nocturne.... it was such a masterpiece ;_; | |

Why is he not going ? Chan will be happy to hear the news.
For men, I am looking forward to Takahashi to win. They say because of an injury. Several sport medicine specialists said to him that he shouldn't strain himself physical in the next two weeks. I don't find much more infos... I wonder whether he will retire again but I think so. -.- It's Takahashi's chance to be worldchampion 2010. | |

| Yes Plushy isn't going because of his health. His leg starting to hurt at the practice and then doctors said to him to stay at home. | |

| It took almost 4 years for my friend's daughter to get a double axel clean and consistent. After that, triples came rather easier and this girl is one of the top skater in America right now. I know another skater who took 5 years to get double axel clean. She got triple sal earlier than double axel. I just can not imagine how hard it is to master triple axel like Mao did. That is why only 3 ladys could do this jumps in the history. Other triple jumps lutz, flip, loop, sal and toe have been mastered by all the top skaters whether they are big jumps or not. There are hundreds of skater who can do them. I am so happy and proud that Mao was determined to execute all 3 of them at the Olympic and I would love to see them again at the World.Mao is the ONLY woman who CAN do this jump.WOOOOW the more I think about it, more i get really amazed!!! | |

| There is something I have always wondered about. Has Mao ever done an Ina Baeur? I have never seen her do one in her programs. Has anyone seen her do one before? It's just that the ina baeur is one of my favorite elements and I would love to see Mao do one in Shizuka's style. She's definitely flexible enough to pull it off. | |

| I remember once seeing a video, it might have been from a gala finale or some show, I don't know, where she tried it just for fun along with some of the Japanese guys, I believe. I'm sorry, it's been a while and I really can't remember well but I think Shizuka was there doing her Ina Bauer and they kind of followed her trying to imitate her. At least from that video it seemed like it was her first attempt ever and that she obviously never trained it. She had quite a hard time keeping her balance and she didn't even try to bend backwards much. But I'm sure it would be absolutely no problem for her to learn it if she really wanted to. I'd like to see her do one too! edit: polosatik beat me to it. At least now I'm sure I didn't dream it. | |
