- I love Mao's new EX more and more every time I watch it. I think the first time I saw it I was too excited over the fact that this was a new Mao program to pay attention to all the details.
On the second viewing, I noticed little things here and there which altered my overall response to the program. For example, the little twirl Mao does at the very end of the program makes her skirt spin so that (I think) it looks like a tutu . So beautiful .
Same! I just noticed the part around 3:28 of the video kirakira just linked, where she lifts her leg while spinning and extends into the Y-spin as the chords in the music go up the scale. Also, I played a little game - I paused at random times, and EVERY TIME, Mao's arms were just perfectly extended and curved at the fingertips just right. Honestly, I didn't really understand why people were making such a fuss last season that her programs weren't showcasing her strengths - I thought she was doing Bells really well (especially in its full glory at Worlds), but watching this, I completely understand now. She's just divine in her element and no one comes close - she's a true ballerina on ice, and now I really get it: a program that doesn't let her show that doesn't do her justice.

Sounds like a fun game - I might try it too! I think that Mao's ballet training really sets her apart from others without the same background. On top of the already gorgeous choreography, Mao seems to know intuitively how to place her arms and hands so that there are no awkward positions at all. 'Bells' was a very subtle expression of her grace - only those who could appreciate that subtlty ended up liking that program, methinks . But with this Ballade, one would be hard-pressed not to admire her for the ballerina on ice she is .

| I adore Mao's new program and costume. They match her to a T. I can't wait to see all the nuances of the program polished and improved - it is very intricate. I really loved the back-to-front arabesques at the beginning and the turns at the end. The whole program was just magical. | |

| Hey..I just came out of lurkdom to share something with you guys. that I was watching Mao's chopin ballade ex yet again.. and my bro happened to walk by n started watching with me. The first thing he said was.."I like this music"...I was a little surprised cuz I didnt expect my younger bro to like something so classical... then he said.."she's good..." then, "This is how ice skating should be like...classical, graceful, simple yet complex..." my mouth fell open...he's like 14... Anyway, that made my day so I thought I'd make yours too | |

| Very happy to see Mao again. I like her new exhibition program, but when I saw Miki's one, I was impressed, done with passion. I didn't expect this. | |

| Thanks for all the videos! Wow! Miki's Ex was amazing! I'm really impressed with Miki. She has a number of exhibition programs and she really gives her all with her performances. Mao... I just love this program! It's perfect for her... a real ballerina on ice! | |
