2011 Cup of Russia

Mao was still in Chukyo yesterday. since someone went to check chukyo rink (he / she should be skating related ppl who check rink for future usage ) and met Mao and Taka were doing tr there.

Jeremy and Haruka-chan (he called her this way on twitter) left France to Russia yesterday-> then flight delay--> finally boarding--> landing Russia but there was no one pick them up !!!! and their luggage and skates didn't arrive with them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! five hours later, Jeremy updated that finally they arrived their hotel and luggage will arrive later (fingers cross) look like Jeremy took Haruka all the way

ETA: updated from Jeremy, around 5pm of Japan, he said their bags are in Moscow on the van but ...don't know when the van will arrive at the hotel. Hope they can get that later today

how interesting. so this means i can ship jeremy & haruka now?

i'm assuming that yuka and jason are on hand to shepherd them through this mess. i certainly hope their skates arrive soon, so they can practice and get used to the ice and rink there.

hearing about their missing/ delayed skates makes me feel slightly concerned that mao isn't already in russia. and then i remember it's only tuesday (in this time zone ;p) maybe i'm just eager for more mao tidbits thank you again, shikure, for always keeping us posted.

oh dear, maybe they should consider carrying their skates with their carry-on baggage next time. i would be worried and mortified if i were either of them. good luck, jeremy! and when will mao leave for russia?

i have heard some people say that skate blades are considered weapons and therefore must be checked rather than carried-on. other people say they carried their skates, blades and all, onto the plane without problem, so... maybe jeremy and haruka didn't have a choice.

I think Jeremy and Haruka is "normal" passenger, so they need to check in thier "weapon", even all of us know they won't waste their skates for killing
some of skaters may be different, since UA is Mao and Taka's sponsor, they may have some "arrangement" and hope they can have that kind of privilege.
since all of us know Mao used to arrive "on time" and missing luggage is totally disaster to them.

so far didn't see any update from Jeremy ~ so No news is good news:)

Since it's still Wednesday afternoon here, we may see news when she leaves for CoR

That had to be unpleasant for Jeremy and Haruka (and no one was at the airport to pick them up?!).

I remember thinking at the time of the Vancouver olympics, how do those skaters that arrive later on, make sure that their luggage doesn't get lost, since I thought that skates could be considered as weapon. can you imagine arriving in vancouver one day before official practise and your skates got lost?! I think i would faint.

has Mao arrived now, I mean the competition is tomorrow, and it would be stressig to arrive on the same day as the competition, and not have ried the ice and somehow gotten used to it, so hope Mao doesn't go at the last minute! please anyone when Mao arrives and it's possible to see her practice clips please post them, cause I am so curious to see if her 3A is stable now...

Competition starts on friday, tomorrow is just practice. I wish Mao would leave the 3A out of her programs until it's fully ready. Hopefully mr.Sato will be able to convince her.

I'm so excited that we'll get to see Mao soon! It really helps that UA is Mao's sponsor. Being able to travel with your skates must be great for your sanity, and I think I read that she flies in first class (a lot better when your body needs all the rest and comfort it can get before a competition).

Hope Haruka and Jeremy's skates arrive soon.

I can't wait until friday. I hope eurosport will broadcast ladies sp and lp live! don't care if I have to hear about Maya Asada 100 times, as long as I get to see her skate!

Yep! Adelina is very nice girl in real life, she and Liza are maybe the future example of friendly rivalry. They always congratulate each other and it's so touching to see they have no problem with being friends and rivals at the same time!

still no news about whether Mao has gone to Russia? i really hope mao goes there in good time so that she has time to settle herself and get used to the ice and rink there..

I'm wondering if Mao and Adelina ever shared the same ice in training, when Mao was working with Tarasova in Russia. It's no surprise to me that Mao is Adelina's role model, Adelina strikes me as a very focused and determined young lady with an incredible work ethic. Last season you could see she was nervous before her programs but she was so well trained and focused she managed to skate pretty well almost every single time she took the ice. Maybe the injury made her feel less prepared this season but I believe she will do better in Russia. My hope for the podium is Mao, Adelina and Haruka(with Mao and Adelina making the final).
