Yes, my little shipper heart basically exploded when I saw this! (Thanks so much for posting, cherriee!) So much so, that I was completely incapacitated for a few days... Nah, actually I got bogged down with family and friends, and I wanted to wait until I had sufficient time to post a PROPER reply!

I noticed that they have quite a discussion going in the K+M thread, so I think I'll go post my version of this event there...

But before I do that, a few more things to comment on!

It always warms my heart to see Team Japan having fun together!

Since we didn't get to see everything that happened with the lightsaber stabbing scene, allow me to elaborate.

Here is my totally made-up version of what happened after Taka-chan pretended to get "stabbed."

After Taka-chan was stabbed with the lightsaber, he staggered around for a few moments and then collapsed onto the ground. He lay on his back with his eyes closed, pretending to be dead. Everyone burst out laughing.

Mao was feeling pretty excited, so she decided to play along. She knelt down on the floor next to him and shook him.

"Taka-chan, are you dead??" she said with mock concern. "Wake up, Taka-chan! Get up!"
"Mao, you have to kiss him to wake him up," Dai said. "Like Sleeping Beauty!"
"Yes! Yes!" Kana-chan interjected, laughing. "Kiss him!!"

Mao totally blushed and waved her hand in front of her face. "No way!" she protested.

Dai kneeled on the floor next to Mao and pretended to flip his hair back like a girl. He batted his eyelashes and said in his girliest voice, "Fine. Then I'll kiss him!"

Taka-chan's eyes snapped open and he scrambled to get to his feet and away from Dai.

And everyone else nearly collapsed from laughing.

Yep, that is TOTALLY what happened!

Sorry to double post, but I just found this link, and Mao playing "air piano" (? what is she doing?? ) and Dai's expression were just PRICELESS!!!

Aww, so cute... This reminded me of that interview at Chuukyou Uni right after the Olympics where Mao was so tired that she completely forgot the question had to ask the interviewer to repeat the question.

Someone was asking Mao questions from the side, so Mao kept looking at her, and the camera people kept telling her to look at the camera.

Translation:

Q: Is there anything you want to do this year outside of skating?
A: Mmmmm....
Q: You're a college senior...
A: Right... [turns to the camera] Sorry! I do think I need to attend school properly, and even though my life is centered around skating, if I have time, or if there's something I want to learn, I think it would be good if I can go to school.

I finally got around to watching Kana-chan and Yuzuru-kun's interview during the MOI gala, and there was one part that was super funny!

The way Yuzuru chuckles and Kana-chan's nervous laugh here are just

Yuzuru: We talk about all kinds of things, like skaters. Usually skating-related things.

To me it totally seemed like Kana-chan might say 'skaters,' but then she stopped herself. So this little scene totally made me think that Yuzuru-kun and Kana-chan are totally gossiping about the other skaters behind the scenes! Or perhaps they are brainstorming about ways to get Mao and Taka-chan together--that is why they both looked so embarrassed when Kokubun-san asked them what they talk about.

Kana-chan and Yuzuru-kun are cute together, but not in the Taka-Mao way, in my opinion. They just seem to be good friends.

Sorry for being late, Christmas season here at my place is always so so hectic!

Anyway, like all of you, I am very very happy to see Mao win Nationals this year! I guess you could call it a bittersweet victory though. Many of you pointed out that there was a quiet but burning determination visible in Mao's performances at Nationals and yes, I agree since it shows!

I'm happy that Mao has a great support team, from her sister Mai to Team Japan, from the Satos to her fans! She'll be fine guys! I'm sure her mother will always be watching her!
