JGP in Linz has started today and Nathan Chen just won the SP with 75.15 points!
The second placed Japanese skater Sei Kawahara scored 61.73. Unless Nathan has a complete melt down tomorrow, he has this one in the bag.

I can't wait for the ladies!

Elena won ladies gold as expected with a score of 182.86 ... so close to passing Julia's 183 from JGP Italy last year

I feel bad for Risa Shoji though, finishing in twelfth...

Yes Elena was amazing! And Nathan won with 222 points. So far it's the highest score of the season.

@ballerinamao, Risa had two under-rotated jumps, many were downgraded and she got an "e" on lutz.

I am not sure her UR can be fixed or not now
Last year, she still had some PCS to save her from low ranking but now, she lost her PCS due to those significant UR and falls.
the other Japanese skater, replacement for Haruna Suzuki, Yuka Nagai was doing okay for her junior debut / JGPS debut / second international competition. she has pretty nice PCS with not so perfect jumps.
she had her 3F+2T and 2A+3T in AFST but not here.

Yes, she is very good. She has nice jumps and that spread eagle at 3:12 was awesome. Looking forward to seeing more of her.
