Akiko was 2nd after the Short Program, she scored 108.83 for her FP and got a total score of 166.57, winning first in the ladies competition.

Wow! I like her SP Tango "Jealousy" so much, but this LP of her is likewise a very energetic,
lively, wonderful program.

Akiko's passionate, articulate and expressive rendition is always a joy to watch!
I love her step sequence here, if she could only add more variations on her spins and
put more effort on her spirals, plus landing all those jumps, she would definitely again
be a tough shoo-in for major medals this season.

FS is Fiddler on the Roof but I don't like this version. The music
in there are great but not sentimental enough.

Kohaku Uta Gassen is a big show. Top tier pop artists/singers compete in two teams: the red team (all female) and the white team (all male). They have it every new year's eve. This year will be the 62nd show.

When I read it, I thought Akiko's star power is definitely rising.

Wow, that is a big deal!! I remember Shizuka Arakawa being a "judge" after the 2006 Olympics, and I thought Mao might be a judge last year after 2010 Olympics, but that didn't happen.

This is actually really surprising! Miki hasn't been invited to be a judge either, and she is a former Japan Nat'ls champion and 2-time World champion!!

Well, I hope Akiko has a good time!
