| Thanks Coconut ! Mao is very cute. Looks like the laptop she's using is her b'day present. Funny that she noticed that there are Nepia tissus sold in Russia. Even the luxury one (reminds me of Mao wearing that weird dress haha).
I love Tujii san's music. Great guy, great personality and knows that Mao is a very special girl. Like Mingming said, her voice says everything. There was on Yahoo few days ago where (I don't know if it's still there) you could vote for your favorite athlete and of course, I voted for Mao. I think she's getting equal or more points than Ichiro.
Love you Mao ! | |

Are those pics from before? I thought Mao is currently training in Japan and not Russia? Unless she goes back and forth? I personally hope she's training in Russia and far away from anything to do with GFP so she's not reminded too much of it, and far away from all the media

Does anyone know the link to this poll (if it's still open)? same question here. i wanna vote for Mao, too. The results are out already! You can see them here http://banduke.yahoo.co.jp/sports01/index.htmlMao is 4th WOW, Ichiro got so many points . Happy for him. Ishikawa (golf) is 2nd. But can't believe Kimiko Date is above Mao

| I haven't gone back to Japan in quite a while but Ryo Ishikawa in 2nd? I still don't get the media's obsession with him. At. All. As far as golf is concerned, Ai Miyazato has been doing a much more commendable job in the LPGA (she's third in the LPGA money list, good job!) but I guess being on top of the not-very-competitive Japanese tour rakes in more news and attention these days which is ridiculous IMO... Ichiro in first is a no-brainer though. I'm scratching my head over how Hideki Matsui, who was MVP for the Yankees' World Series win didn't even crack the top 10 either. Ai Miyazato & Matsui not on the list + Mao in 4th = me crying foul at this poll. ETA: I just read the comment section and it seems like the nominees were preselected and limited to ten athletes. Well, NO WONDER! Don't take this poll seriously, folks. | |

Ahaha...had me a little worried their for a second I was wondering about Matsui, too...World Series MVP...with the Yankees...and not in the top 10 somewhere? xD I'd like to think Mao would be at least 2nd or even 3rd on a legitimate poll.

Who is he (or she :S ) ? I believe she is a tennis player and has once dated a pretty famous actor in Japan named Nakai Kiichi. I could be wrong. I always get her and Sugiyama Ai mixed up. I didn't know that she was that popular either.

Thank you for the link! I'm guessing this is a promotional video for Nationals made of old clips? Is it labeling it as Mao's "last chance"? Hmm...that seems pretty rash--seeing as it is only logical that they send Mao to the Olympics despite her placement at Nats. But it makes you wonder, is it the JSF's opinion that it is Mao's "last chance" or just the media.

| Thanks for the link, MikiAndoFan#1.
Narrator: What exactly is happening to Mao? Mao took on a difficult program at the opening competition in an important Olympic season. But she was far from successful. Whereas her biggest rival, Yu-Na Kim, demonstrated a superb performance and won the competition, garnering a new world record. Expected to redeem herself at the 2nd competition and thought to recapture her brilliance, Mao had her worst performance since moving to the senior ranks and failed to advance to the GPF with the stake of losing one of the tickets to be on the Olympic team.
The Japanese National Championships is the last chance to make it on to the road to Vancouver. Upon her return to Japan, Mao looked on ahead to her next competition.
Mao: "I had feelings of vexation and shame, but on a positive note - because of my poor performances I found out what areas I need to work on. Thinking rationally, there isn't anything that cannot be dealt with really...you only get one shot at a competition so I would like to practice to be able to hit 100/100 times."
Narrator: Mao is standing at a crossroad with many great hurdles ahead, blah, blah, blah. Come to think of it, Mao has always set forth goals for herself and attained them.
Mao: "I want to work hard to achieve my goal of getting the gold medal at the Olympics."
Narrator: The National Championships is a place where Mao has overcome much obstacles.
Tatiana: "Everybody in Japan, please continue to support Mao- that will become her strength."
*That's the jist of the fluff piece. I typed most of it as I was listening so bear w/me. Batsuchan's Japanese abilities are far superior than mine, so yeah, now I'm going to bed.

| I just found this video that was posted yesterday. I don't think anyone has mentioned it on here yet. I'm pretty sure it's a new interview too. At least new for English subtitles anyway (yay!) Anyone know what chanel this is? I guessed it was Canadian, but someone told me it wasn't... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcdv8W3feIE | |

| Mao's newest practice clip on today's news!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2_BLcHQ6zsMao in InterviewI think I can do much better performance. I haven't shown my best yet. so my goal right now is to do my own best. I've done two 3A last season so it's not something impossible for me. I always imagine myself being at Olympic Games but before that, I have to focus on Nationals. When I have a day off, I usually relax and have some good food but other than that, I pretty much skate everyday.
