At the end, the announcer said something like, now Mao and Kanako will be competing as rivals, and Kanako-chan kept shaking her head, saying no,no!! Too cute! Hell, no!

Apparently Mao and Kanako practiced together a few times over the past season, and so that helped motivate Mao. Very Happy

The other part I thought was really funny was when they showed clips of mini-Mao and mini-Kanako. Mao said something like, 'wow, Kanako was so little,' and the announcer was like, you were little too, Mao-chan! Razz

I saw Kozu practicing in the background! Too sweet!

Can't wait to see this. Looks like it will be aired on 4/11, but there will surely be news clips tomorrow! Very Happy

I love that Mao was radiating with confidence! That is great to see! She seems so comfortable at home and was really performing!

I totally agree with everything sapphiresky said! (Thanks for the clip!) Oh, if only she could bring this to the competition--how that would shut up the critics!! Yep!

I thought it was interesting that she chose "Masquerade Waltz" as her encore and not the steps from 'Bells.' Well, I guess that's slightly more appropriate for an EX... Very Happy

In the beginning, they're talking about a survey they did. They asked 300 people what they think of when they think of 'the pride of Nagoya', and #1 was Nagoya Castle, #2 was some miso udon dish, and #3 was (drumroll)...Mao Asada!! Happy dance

(Figure skating was #9).

They tell Mao this, and she is very happy. They also gave her some senbei from Otsu (from a shop that she used to go to a lot when she was training near there).

At the end, the old guy says he made a promise with Mao to eat yakiniku sometime... Hmm... Suspect
