Of course he did- he was trying to impress Mao by doing well at everything! I wouldn't ask anyone to translate the whole thing, but I was wondering if there were any particularly funny or interesting things said? PPotato already mentioned one (thanks!) So excited to watch!!

The show's darts section maybe? In every episode of TFP, the guests are asked to draw one postcard sent in by viewers out of a large plastic box and get to throw one last dart (the ideal situation being that it'll land on of the prizes, which will then be sent to that lucky viewer). Last year Mao was able to "gift" an Onsen Trip to a lady in Aichi. This year...the postcard Mao drew out came from someone named Midori Ito from Aichi, of all people and places. It isn't the Midori we all know (the person on the postcard is a few years older), but it was definitely an eye-opening moment.

| Although she had the advantage of going last, Mao was the only one that didn't fall for the stream of gas from above in the mice hammering game. She was also very strategic and efficient in her hammering. She would lunge and hit two mice with two simultaneous swings, and after a few rounds she seemed to pick up the pattern of where the mice spawned. Mao is very intelligent! Thanks for the links, Kirakira! | |

| It's this show again! The Wall Crash segment from the previous time Mao was on the show was absolutely hilarious! Whereas Taka-chan scaled his way ever-so-skillfully to the very top, Mao approached the task with her usual enthusiasm and determination, but sort of just 'plopped' onto the wall. I'm definitely going to watch the new show once I get the free time. Yay for Mai being on the show! Mao-Mai sister power! . Edit: Oh no, the clips are no longer available! | |

| Well, I fiinaallly got to watch TFP!! It's kind of too bad it wasn't a 2-hour special like last year--it felt so short this time! My favorite Japanese blog (why is it my favorite?? Well, just check out the pic at the top! ) had some nice screenshots from the show: http://ameblo.jp/shion-925/theme-10021710734.htmlMai was really hilarious! Sometimes Mao can be quite ditzy/say some really funny things, but when Mai and Mao are together, you can really see why they say that Mao is more shikkari shiteru = the more put-together/organized of the two. During the Never Wipe Out!, Mai was like, if Mao and I do it again, we'll definitely get it! And Mao just looked at her like she was crazy. And then she was like, "How come we couldn't do it? It looks so easy!" Mao's expression when they were pulling her off the Wall was soo hilarious. And she looked like she was having soo much fun during the Chu chu buster game! It was really surprising but really hilarious that Dai-chan had such a hard time with the games. I literally burst out laughing when he fell off the wall onto the two helper guys! I have to say, Taka-chan was really cool during the whole show. So calm and cool, and most of the time, dependable; the clutch-hitter. - mingming wrote:
Taka-chan and Mao were soooooooo cute together at Never-wipe-out!!! Don't miss them around 4:30 of Part3! So cute indeed! But I found this to be VERY interesting. When Mai suggested that Mao and Taka-chan do the game together, Mao tried to pat him on the back or something, but he spun away from her. What was up with that? I wondered. My only explanation could be that Mao is always affectionate like this, but Taka-chan is worried that people will get the wrong idea (and think they are more than just friends), so he tries to avoid her. (I felt like he was like this last year on TFP too! I distinctly remember Mao being so excited after he did well on the Wall Crash and trying to pat him on the back enthusiastically, but he pulled away.) But then, in the middle of the game, he forgets about this, so he and Mao revert to how they normally are, and we get to see Mao try to push Taka-chan out of the way. Yes, I am probably reading too much into this situation, but that is what I like to do. But still, I come back to the fact that Taka-chan seemed so cool and skillfull on the show (unlike Dai-chan!), and I suddenly imagined a conversation with Mao-chan and Kana-chan after the show... Kanako: I saw you all on Tokyo Friend Park! Mao: Oh, you did? Kanako: It looked like so much fun! I want to be on Tokyo Friend Park sometime! Mao: Yeah, it was really fun. This time we didn't do so well though... Kanako: Mai-chan was so funny! Mao: She's silly! She's the worst at everything but she has the most confidence! Kanako: Daisuke was pretty bad too--not what I expected! Mao: But he tried hard. Kanako: Taka-chan was soo cool! Mao: ? Kanako: He cleared the Wall Crash and was pretty good at all of those games! He was so cool! Mao: Hmmm, I never thought of that. Yeah, I guess he was pretty cool... [her voice trails off as she becomes lost in thought...]

Hmm... isn't that how guys normally act when they like someone? They get a bit sensitive towards the girl's actions. Now if only Mao realizes what's in front of her.

Mao and we all should complaint about Yuna obstructing to Mao This is off the topic as well, but since chapis mentioned the above link...you all should see this ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtLkQHhrT3U) which is far more serious than YUna cutting through Mao and Takahiko for sure. The narrators say in the beginning, quite clearly that now it's Mao's turn to practice mainly on the ice because her music started. And well...as you can see, we've got more of Yuna skating around in the middle around the Olys logo mark. Yuna was more or less in Mao's way, enough to distract her in the least as some points...Sure it wasn't intentional. And Mao would never complain or have her people file a complaint. But I think even our patient humble Mao who never complains about anything, even seemed a bit frustrated this time. But I can't help imagining, how Yuna or the Korean fed would've reacted if the situation was opposite between them. I used to think Fumie did have too may close calls with Yuna in the warm-ups, which she accused as being intentional. I didn't like Yuna saying all that on tv, but I was a bit angry about Fumie too, cause she never did anything about that habit of her's; being careless and unthoughtful to others during warm ups, cause I think her being that way resulted in all our girls being accused. But after seeing this video, I can't but think of Yuna in the way I do of Fumie. I don't have any proof on anything so, I'm not going as far as to say she was doing it on puropose (hopefully). But I can't understand what kind of skater would be practicing around in the middle of the rink, while obviously somebody elses music is on. And mind you, this was during Olys practice; most important competition for an athlete. Of course, cutting through Mao and Takahiko would've been rude, even if they were off the ice. It even has nothing to do with Mao and Takahiko's relationship whatever it may be. It's just plain rude. I'm sorry to some of you here, who are Yuna's fans as well as Mao's. But what she's been doing lately is starting to get on my nerves a bit. I don't care if people from her forum find this post of mine offensive. Frankly, I'm the one who feels offended by how Yuna's been acting on the rink. I would simply appreciate it if she were a bit more considerate towards others. And if she can't do that, I think it would be better for her to retire, cause if she goes on like this, she's gonna end up being disliked by all the other ladies, in the least. Okay, I'm open to criticizm here about all that I've wrote. And Mods, feel free to put this post in another thread if you think it's appropriate.

I also believe it's not intentional, Yuna doesn't need it, but since she's been complaing so much about others obstructing her, the least she could do was pay attention to her own moves. It seems to me that she thinks so high of herself that believes the rink is hers and everyone should make way for the "queen". Mao looked really upset. Yuna fans dared to say on youtube that "if Mao was not using the rink, it was ok for Yuna to use it". Well, even if Mao intended to use it, it would be impossible at that rate. Besides, if it was Yuna's music playing, they'd surely call Mao the worst possible names ever, and Mao would've probably received some official complaint. I don't know in other countries, but in mine, cutting through people is one of the worst demonstrations of impoliteness, especially when there's a huge space around, so, Yuna should really have some manners.

Mao and we all should complaint about Yuna obstructing to Mao WELL, since we're already off-topic, then I shall share my favorite clip from that 2008 GPF gala finale: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19bQAdDdehgTotally clueless as usual, our dear Mao-chan nearly hits Taka-chan's hand...and then he's about to reach for her hand, but no, he pulls it away, embarrassed. Oh, POOR Taka-chan!! ** Now moving BACK on to the topic!! The Tokyo Friend Park site has a "behind the scenes" write-up on this week's episode: http://www.tbs.co.jp/tfp2/ura.htmlIt says: When we asked Mai, the older sister, which attractions she wanted to try, from her side, Mao-chan said, "This is hard! This is easy...but it might be impossible for you, Mai!?" and she gave her all kinds of advice based on her experiences at TFP last year. But, in the end, she said, "Taka-chan (Kozuka Takahiko) will do his best, so it'll be fine!" It seemed like she had high hopes for Kozuka. Afterward, when we told this to Kozuka, he said "Ohh, I feel pressure!" and gave a bitter smile. Takahashi, who also was coming to TFP for the first time, said, "I'm excited! I'll be good at all of the attractions!," and was full of confidence. But after the show, he kept saying, "It was fun but [the results were] upsetting!" The reason was because everyone else named his as the leader, and he became too nervous. All four of them said "next time we'll definitely win all the gold coins" and pledged revenge. Full of good spirits, they left TBS [TV studio]. Next year it would be good if they can win the grand slam [ie, win at all the attractions]. *** So it seems Mao-chan had a lot of faith in Taka-chan after all! Oooooh!
