One thing I feel relieved is she doesn't have to travel long distances.

but coach Sato will be very busy Orz...since this year Mao and Taka get totally different assignment...so is Yuka/Jason.
and assignment this year is very very weird and tough for most of them.
but seeing Alena, Victoria and Adelina stick together ...sort of making me laugh...are ISU ppl being lazy and just copy / paste.

I've just checked Men's assignment. As you say, the Satos will be very busy traveling around. I'm sorry for them. They may need to split into two because they are not young. I think Yuka & Jason are fine because they are young.

Men's assignment is also weird. Did NHK requested Daisuke and Yuzuru to boost audience and viewing rate? This doesn't help them at all.

I really want to go. Are you going, shikure? Shanghai is very close. I think it'd be very difficult to get ticket for NHK. Actually, I have to give up THE ICE this year because of my work and I regretted very, very much that I didn't go to 4CC in Taipei last year despite that I could manage to squeeze in time. So, I really want to go to COC.

Mao got CoC? Competition will be fierce there. Anybody going?

edit: Dai-chan will also be there? OMG! I have to find a way to see Cup of China! It might be easier to get tickets there than at NHK.

The 4-6 are also not supposed to meet. But we have Amodio and Brian both at TEB. French and Japanese probably agreed to switch. Go figure what the rules are for.

I wanna go, Mirina! But then I can't decide to really go for it yet. I can't make it to The Ice but I really wanna see Mao and Dai. This is another chance but my schedule is still so difficult to predict now. Maybe in 2-3 months I can see if I can finally go... *crosses fingers*

Mao has alot of tough competition in COC, it should be really exciting and nerve-wracking

Also, last year, if someone were to have told me that in the next GP season, Caroline Zhang would have two assignments while Mirai and Alissa would each have one, I never would've believed it.

And the GPF being held in Sochi should be pretty motivating for the skaters to compete there and know that hopefully they'll be back for the Olympics.

Alissa only has one assignment because she is severely injured - she is going to have to have hip surgery soon because she tore something. That explains her poor performances during the latter half of the season. Jason and Yuka actually told the ISU to only give her one - they were going to give her two. Mirai kind of crashed and burned - I hope she pulls herself together.

no, there is no such session. http://www.ctv.co.jp/event/the_ice/qanda.html rules here but looks like last year version and not update yet.
Basically, no camera, recording and no usage of cellphone~ if they see that, they will take that away then give back to you after show.

then about ticket for CoC, ppl went there last year said they don't provide selling oversea last year but can wait and see for this year.
you need to get ticket there or ask someone live there to buy for you..but....there were a lot of scalper tickets outside the rink on competition date from the station to rink and it's very cheap. sometimes, you can have free give away outside the rink.

1.she felt sad due to her mother and thinks about that everyday since she has spare time (off-season).

1. Coach Sato said she practiced alone before but now she practices in Shin-yokohama with a lot of skaters then she can feel the different of speed from each other.
2. coach sato said it will take around three years to make her reach the goal (should be fix her jump and gain speed)
3. they said she started to watch Men and dance practice now and she is changing.
4. because her father was always with her mother, she took care of herself including driving, cooking... but lately, her father sometimes drives her to rink.
5. satos didn't know how serious about mao's mother's situation.
6. now Mao is more like older sister than Mai and she is very mature.
7. coach sato talked about media and media in Nats... he said when he was surrounding by over 30 medias (since he tried to save mao from those media) he said he felt mao is a very incredible person who always deals with these.

I couldn't agree more! She is so young and she deals with everything with such grace and maturity, she's a true inspiration.

ilani I agree, I've been waiting to hear this from Mao for years! Finally, she understands that there's more to skating than just jumps.

And Sato said it'll take about 3 years to reach her goal, so since this is her 3rd season with him she should be ready for Sochi. I hope she'll qualify to GPF this year and be able to compete at the "olympic ice".

WOW, the Satos' interview is very very interesting. So many things we never heard from them.
The most interesting part is when he mentioned that the most difficult thing about teaching Mao is that she's a real star and the media doesn't leave her alone one second, they want good result all the time and would bomb Mr. Sato with questions whenever something is not perfect..and that people expect Mao to be perfect all the time.
He also asked the media to give some space and time to Mao.

Mao says in her interview that now that she has more time to herself (off season) she thinks a lot about her mother...

Poor girl. Love you Mao.!
