It seems like Mr. Sato is being PR for Mao, and fielding a lot of the questions for her
I like this. This way, Mao gets at least a tiny bit of break form the japanese media frenzy and their constant mention of triple axels. - COHK wrote:
- Actually, I read in the twitter that it will be Kumiko Sensei accompany Mao to Canada. I think it was like what Yuka Sato pointed out that Mao's team is trying all their best to present the positive packaging for Mao!
I love this! This could trully be her season. I haven't seen her this motivated in a long time. Go Mao!

Now I feel like having some Ghana choco... Thank you:flowers: How does Ghana chocolate compare to Meiji chocolate? I could only find Meiji choc in my area so I choose the black one. Not bad and it really kept me awake. This might be a stupid question, but is there some special ingredient that Japanese chocolate producers put in to their chocolates? It's the first time, that I hear chocolate has kept someone awake.

I usually have coffee or other drinks w/ caffeine or chocolates when I need to work long hours. Milk chocolates should have lesser content, though.

However, chocolate has never worked for me in keeping me awake, this is why I was surprised that it works for some. To stay awake I need lots of caffeine. Then I drink coffe like it's water, not the best idea, but it works.

| The cocoa powder used to produce chocolate does contain coffeine, but the amount is extremely small. Depending on the degree of fermentation and the type of cocoa beans, the caffeine content will vary from 0.1-0.5%. That said, sometimes I also have coffee with a bit of chocolate (or chocolate bars) if I need to force myself to stay awake. It's quickly digestible and provides glucose to the brain to trick it into believing it's no longer hungry and has a lot of energy. :lol2:Of course, after the "sugar rush" comes "sugar crash", so this tricking the brain only works for a short time. It's usually enough to finish a report or clean the apartment, though. Good quality dark chocolate is also one of the foods that have the highest magnesium content. A deficiency in magnesium can lead to sleepiness, anxiety disorders, migraines and other unplesant side-effects. The only snacks that are higher in magnesium (per 100g) that I can remember off the top of my head is raw spinach and pumpkin seeds. :)So a bit of chocolate is actually good for you, as long as you remember to brush teeth afterwards. ...AKA things I didn't expect to ever discuss on a figure skating forum. | |

I used to depend on coffee to keep me awake, but then I became immune to it, and too much coffee made me feel tired, so I have to turn to dark chocolate. It seems like the Japanese consumers don't like dark chocolate. Meiji only has what they call black chocolate, and the cocoa content is just around 30%. It's more like milk chocolate. - inskate wrote:

...AKA things I didn't expect to ever discuss on a figure skating forum. I think, you just found out my disease! I suffer all what you counted there and some more, like spasm in the leg and stuff yeah, I've also had problems with magnezium deficiency, which led to some nasty leg cramps. Now that I know that chocolate is reach in magnezium, it's bye-bye magnezium pills, and hello chocolate. Ahh, that's probably why tennis players often eat banana, to prevent leg cramps.
