I didn't even know that it was up for debate as to whether Yuna was going to 4C or not. I thought she wasn't. If it's true that the Korean skating federation is fighting for her to be there, then they look pretty foolish. Figure skating doesn't need even more of a boost in Korean that it's crucial. People there are probably tired of hearing about it, I'd imagine! If Yuna, and her coach feel it's not the best move for them, I don't know why they are tying to push it.

I also think it's ridiculous that some people think, "the ISU is doing everything it can to stack the deck against the South Korean". They would be foolish to "stack the deck" against the top skater in the world, who is expanding figure skating's fan base.

It also makes me mad that they won't shut up about the downgrades in Yunas jumps at the GPF. Other skaters get questionable downgrades all the time. Neither Yuna, nor many other people seem to complain when Yuna gets bonus points for certain things, and other skaters don't.

Wasn't the TS in GPF a swiss lady called Miriam ? I think she's the one who gave DG to Yuna at COC in 2008. The TS in Japanese nationals was Japanese, I think.

What i don't like about the article, is how the writer tries to insinuate that there are alleged deals between Japanese skating federation and ISU. That's so unfair to Mao, Miki, and Suzuki. It's like saying that they cannot win without some backdoor assistance!

Phil reaches yet another all-time low. I'm sorry, but I don't understand how this can possibly lead to a supposed "wearing Yu-Na out by the Olys" conspiracy. If anything, that title should be applied to the skaters who are actually competing at 4CC and Olys back-to-back. The request to have skaters compete have been giving to all the federations and it's not exactly a big secret that Speedy wanted big-names like Mao to compete as well.

And really, posting a bot-made video of how Yu-Na shouldn't have been downgraded at the GPF? I agree with Star on this, I don't see why there needs to be an uproar regarding Yu-Na's questionable DG calls when the same thing has been happening to Mao, Miki, CaroZ, Rachael et al. for multiple seasons.

Believe in MAO. And I really don't think Mao or Yuna should go to 4CC. It's better to stay healthy and practice for the biggest night of their lives.

Gggrrrrr Phil Hersh... Every time I read one of his columns I tell myself that it's the last time but I'm too curious and I always end up really pissed because of him. Stirring up rumors, conspiracy theories and the likes... wow, that's fantastic professionalism... It shows what a credible journalist he is.

I kinda agree with Yu-Na's team though... I don't know what kind of pressure the ISU/Speedy is putting on her and her fed (because I refuse to believe the piece of crap I just read), but she makes a good decision by choosing not to go. It's just too far and she obviously doesn't want to submit herself to another 2008 GPF so close to the Olys. If she has a meltdown, it could really hurt her confidence, especially counting the fact that barring TEB, her season hasn't been so awesome.

I'm glad Yu-Na and her team are firm in their decision. But I hate reading articles like this. While it may be unfair to YuNa to have Cinquanta insist that she compete at 4CC, articles like these are also unfair to Japan and their skaters. Gosh, they are really making it look like she's being sabotaged.

Why in the world are they blowing it out of proportion thinking of conspiracy theories and making it look like Yu-Na is the only victim?! I agree with aoi88 that this issue is unfair to the Japanese Federation esp to their skaters. If a Japanese lady wins the event it's because she DESERVES it.

That's insane! While I doubt the credibility of this article, if it's true, Yu-Na might just become the highest-paid figure skater in history..whether that's good or bad

But in my opinion, they shouldnt put even more pressure on her, that she even carries with her already I dont think, that Yuna Kim, the biggest star in South Korea is thinking about money anymore

I think this forum is perfectly fine! We don't spend a ridiculous amount of time talking about Mao's personal life and we don't try to force our love for her onto her. I think it crosses the lie when the relationship between skater/fan goes from friendly admiration to thinking that you can become a part of the skater's personal life by actually approaching them and trying to make them love you

Actually, I think these kind of positive fan forums/sites are really encouraging to the skaters!

yes, I know this forum is super respectful and supportive, may be yes a little obsessive, but we are fans after all

I have wondered a couple times if we can be borderline obsessive on here sometimes... lol. But you know, there's a difference between being a big, loving fan, and being dangerously obsessed.

Even though I may dream about getting to Mao meet someday, and having her take a special liking to me, and ask me for my number, and actually call me up to hang out, and actually become pals doesn't mean it's my mission to make that happen. If I ever get to meet her, I will probably have enough time for a pic, and an autograph, and by then, I'll be so happy I'll be kind of speechless. Plus, I would probably be afraid to act too star struck, and creep her out.

There are a few celebrities who I really admire, and who I think seem to be really great, fun people. I sincerely wish I could be friends with them too, but they're just kind of... out of reach, and I accept that. Someday if the circumstances are right, and our paths cross in the right way or something... you never know what can happen, but other than that, I'm getting on with my life.
