If they skate like they did at Europeans, I think they'll win a medal! It was good seeing Isabelle and Olivier skate again! Good luck to all!

news clip!!! Credits; zyem16 I saw a 3l-2l-2l. 3A is looking great too! There is a Yu-Na segment... Yamanda is telling her opinion. I have no time to translate so can somebody else do it?><... thanks! 8D Here is the quote from Yamada coach. I understand why Mao is so eager to challenge 3A even though others do wonder her jumping layout. Midori was just the same too. Kids wanna show what they can do at the competition even if the technique is still not that consistent. If Yu-na has a great 3-3 combination, then Mao should bring 3A which Yu-na can't do. If I was still her coach, I would still let Mao do that. When the official uniforms arrived at Chukyo University, Mao was so happy and opened the box right away and wore them at the lobby. She asked me things like "When should I leave Japan? You've been to Olympic three times, right? How is it like?" and I said "It's really fun!" She even told me "I get excited day by day!" so I had to actually calm her down. She is just so happy that she is going to Olympics. I think she will be satisfied to do her 3A and her programs even if she doesn't win there. I really hope Mao can do perfect program.

Yeah, I read on a Korean website she's looking for a private practice rink. I really want for her to get used to the feel of the ice on the actual arena as soon as possible, but if it will help Mao be relaxed I'm not gonna complain.

BUT the quad isnt everything. what plushy doesnt seem to understand is that the new scoring system does recognize the quad but it is also about how well you do it.. not just that you do it. his landings were shaky. he lost the gold based on the TES mark. he lost playing his own game. i think it is stupid to ignore the system. plushy couldve focused smartly on working within the system to maximize his points. if he did he would be untouchable No, of course I agree that a well-balanced program is worth more than a single quad with choreography like Plushy's. I quoted the paragraphs simply because I liked his praise of the Japanese men, and to frame the context for it... He also had not-so-nice things to say about Lysacek... http://www.ctvolympics.ca/figure-skating/news/newsid=46469.html#plushenko+rips+judging+system+after+loss&cid=ms

| I had a laugh when I saw this: "Chan to Weir: Be professional in the Kiss and Cry" http://www.ctvolympics.ca/figure-skating/news/newsid=47003.html#chan+weir+be+professional+kiss+cryI knew Patrick Chan wouldn't keep his big mouth shut. At least Weir didn't complain about his marks to his coach at Kiss and Cry unlike someone. After he said "anyone can do a quad" I lost all the remaining respect I had of him. Now, I think my respect is bordering negative value. I'm still really happy for Daisuke and all the Japanese men after seeing those pics/video! Daisuke truly looks delighted. Annd...Awwww! Mao is so adorable! She looks like she is super excited to come to Vancouver! I deeply wish she enjoys her 1st Olympic experience! | |

| I'm now eagerly awaiting the day when Patrick Chan will present us with the "foot-in-my-mouth" spin. Seriously, though; I have to wonder: does anyone think his scores will start to fall once the Olympics are over? | |

| Thank you for the news, ☆Genie and kirakira! Lots of drama at the men's event! You'd think that there would be more in the women's event instead but no! Shows how classy are the ladies , though a good dose of friendly humour occasionally is not a bad idea either. Hope this friendly atmosphere keeps up now that Kim has arrived at Vancouver: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQ53drVHxL4 (with Japanese subtitles) - credits to p0intclear YT uploader http://www.ctvolympics.ca/figure-skating/news/newsid=47350.html#kim+takes+reporters+vancouverKim looks refreshed and fit to kick butt! So is Mao too in the previous news links and photos! Adorable with her excited smile: shows that she is enjoying the experience so far! Great to hear from Coach Yamada as well! In this article (http://www.asahi.com/sports/update/0220/TKY201002200249.html), Mao says that she is motivated by Takahashi's great performance and wants to medal herself as well. She also mentions that her condition is now better than she was before the Japanese Nationals and the 4CC. And that she is in a good strong state of mind - "no feelings of anxiety or insecurity at all". four more days to go before the ladies SP! With the men's event over, did it give you guys any insights to the judging in the ladies' event? Any thoughts? | |

yes im glad he did say good things about the japanese contingent. they were amazing. i was rooting for daisuke to win gold. he has such a flair that separates himself from the field. im glad he went for the quad. nobu handled his mishap so well and performed well after that happened. no way to prepare for that kind of moment. taka was reliable as ever and the only other man to land the quad in the entire competition. scott hamilton and sandra looooove him.
