Ok... I got a little too carried away, but I think it's time to start talking about the Olympics!

Hey the video is awesome! I really enjoyed watching it! Although some of my favorites missing!

Most of them only jumps triple-double, ne! Do you think it will be possible to get a place on the podeum when only doing it? In Turin it did though, but i think its kinda boring
Also im not sure, if any european skater will come in the near of the podeum

Akiko and Mao (as well as Miki, Yukari, Kanako, Kozu et al.) are all skaters from Aichi prefecture - mainly Nagoya and its suburbs - and Coach Nagakubo + Akiko practice once in a while at Chukyo Uni's Aurora Ice Rink too, for starters. It just goes to show that the Japanese skaters are all very close. Heck, the only cases of a tense rivalry I'm aware of amongst Japanese figure skaters were that of Fumie/Shiz in their early days and Takeshi Honda/Yamato Tamura.

I know this is random, but on what days of the olympics is the figure skating competition?

February 14 (Sunday): 16:30 - 19:55 - Pairs SP
February 15 (Monday): 17:00 - 20:55 - Pairs LP
February 16 (Tuesday): 16:15 - 20:45 - Men SP
February 18 (Thursday): 17:00 - 21:05 - Men LP

The time I wrote is Vancouver time. You can tell me where you live and I'll converte the time to the time in your country. For example, the time zone here in Azores is UTC-1, so I just add 7 hours, like here, the Ladies SP will be at 23:30. I hope you understand.

Yeah i understand! So maybe in germany, where i live, is it even more late, isnt it?

For me Olympics will be super hard to watch. Ladies short will start at 3:50 Am and will end at 8:00 AM

I think it will be also the same for me. Or even -1 hour so even worse! haha
Oh well, been there, done that ;p (see SaltLake and I was much younger then!)
Luckily all outdoor disciplines (alpine skiing!) will be earlier

anyone know if mao is going to vancouver early to adjust to the time zone? i hope she goes for the opening ceremonies and to enjoy the olympics.

If i remember right, then somebody said, she, same like Yuna, wont attend the opening ceremony Sad though, this its very special in my opinion ~~

Like Haidogirl said, Mao won't attend opening ceremony. She will stay in Japan till around the 20th.They had a plan to practice with TAT in Russia, but TAT said Russia is 26 degrees below zero. So they decided to stay in Japan to avoid effect of physical condition and double jet lag.

According to this article,TAT promised Mao to "sure to go to Vancouver wearing high heels."
She has given up having sweets for her health and Mao. I hope she will recover soon!

In a way, I am glad Yuna is the heavy favorite now, because I think Mao's underdog status will actually work to her advantage. I still remembered how Tara went out there with an attack because everyone thought Michelle win win the gold that night. So I think, Mao will go out there with an attack and surprise everyone.

Yeah you are right! Maybe its better for her not to be the favorite, so she has not so heavy pressure! Same like Shizuka last Olympics

in another topic I just found out that the open tv(free tv) in Mexico not going to have the Olympics , is the first time, I dont understand. I dont have cable or satellital tv, then I will watch on the internet again . I know the mexican tv stink, is not new, but this is just too much. and you dont think they are poor for buy the rights, no, they are just stupids . since May of last year, they send hundreds of people to Sudafrica, and there are a lot of promos of the soccer worlds since last year too, I mean Mexico dont have any chance in soccer worlds, if they are lucky will pass to the 2nd round . and at the olympics time, I will be in another city, where I don know nobody for to go to someones house with sat tv. stupid televisa and tv azteca

I think no one will miss it ne! A few years ago, i thought i would die when seeing the mens competition, but now i think the Ladies is even more exiting
I really really cant wait!
Last olympics it was good for me to watch it, cause it was in europe time, but now im afraid about the time difference!
