| All Taka-chan, Dai and Nobu were cheering girls at the audience today. but they seemed so busy giving autographs to people around. | |

| Wow Mao!!!! 3A2toe looked amazing, and there was so much joy in her skating. She interpreted "a young woman's first time at a ball" perfectly. After all the hardships this season, I'm so happy to see her enjoying herself so much while skating. After all how many skaters are able to skate with so much joy at the freaking olympics? Amazing.
About the scores, yes this system is fucked up. Pardon the language but no other words describe those scores any better. Btw, I'm watching figure skating in France, and the commentators agreed that Yuna was overscored (and joked that since Mao did a 3A2toe, she is better than male olympic gold medalist Evan). Philip Candeloro seems to adore Mao (she did a gala with him when she was 12) and he always speaks fondly of her. Right before the competition they were talking about who are the favourites, and he said that Mao is his personal favourite and he thinks she's the best skater in the world. It was so nice to hear that after reading over and over on the internet that Yuna is the best skater to have ever existed.

| I saw all three boys, the Reeds + their little sister Allison cheering in the stadium on TV So happy for Mao that she skated a clean SP. And I believe she still has a chance for the Gold in the LP. Go ring the "Bells", Mao-chan!! Mai was watching her sister at a TV studio, and was crying. She decided not to cry until the LP is over, but couldn't help when she saw Mao's eyes tearing after the SP. A TV reporter asked Mai why she wasn't at the stadium, and she said that when she watched the competiton in the stadium before, Mao found her and complained afterwards that she couldn't concentrate --------------------------- Joannie made me cry also. Such a strong and beautiful skater... She has something to focus on right now, but I fear that deeper grief might come to her after the Olympics... I hope her staffs, friends, fans will support her and her family continuously. (and I know they will) | |

| This doesn't beat Candeloro's comments, but this article is at least less biased and appreciates Mao's other elements http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?section=oly&id=4940567Mao also said that usually there's a 10pt difference, but now it's about 5, so she's okay with that Hahaha that made me smile, so humble...And She's so happy, which is the most important thing! | |

| Thanks for kirakira. Didn't Mao's step sequence change again? I found some cute in this SS, it is very good. If she didn't slap at the first part of SS, I think she could earn more GOE. And her Eagle+2A is very beautiful. | |

But good sports nevertheless Ahaha aww Mai is so cute! I don't think anyone wouldn't have been moved to tears of joy! I was crying after that 3A2T lol...

| I cried one for 3A+2T. It's historic! And cried again for Eagle+2A. It's fabulous! Realized that it's Olympic not World so there were many cheerful sounds. | |

| I'm so happy for both Asada and Kim, but a bit sad for Ando. I think her program flew by so fast, it made me hope for a better score.

| Ouch. Just looked at the starting order for the LP. The three top Asian ladies are placed neck-and neck. I wonder what the outcome will be? Go Ando! Do your quad and sneak up on the podium! | |

| I wonder if Mao can beat Yuna on thursday. What do you guys think ? Or will they bring Rochette second ? I know we should concentrate on Mao's performance but afterall, she said she wants GOLD.
huh...I wish I could be strong like some of you !

| I thought Mao was underscored for genius and risk-taking in tonight's SP, as I thought would happen...
I really don't like how this new system is being applied, rewarding rather mediocre interpretation. Kim's 007 plays on flirty/seductive movements and is in my view, not Art. Also, technical GOE should reflect the real quality of extensions, positions in spirals, so forth...
The whole Plushenko thing was that his opponents argued the system worked fine considering the quality (and mistakes) on his landings, spins, footwork, etc... That's why Evan was rewarded with more points. Fine. So, if this is the case - why is the panel not rewarding Mao for her superior program in all those non-jump elements?
Maybe Kim is benefiting from all the PR and hype. Judges are human, after all. She's like the 'golden girl' who could do no wrong... They have been showering her with high marks for years based on the GOE of her jumps, while forgiving her deficiencies and then all the others are so far behind... Isn't that a sign in itself that the system is not working correctly? On the other hand, everything seems fine in ice dance assessments.
I think Kim was overscored, but I'm happy Mao did what she did. I also hope Tarasova will be a voice to change some of the points awarded for jumps in the future.
