Yuzuru has a great 3A and spins, he's really flexible (beautiful Ina Bauer). Plus, he has style. I guess there will be a fight among Japanese men for spots in the national team in case Dai sticks until Sochi.

Sui/Han are amazing!!!!! The quad sal was two footed, I guess, but the height was great, and boy, at their age, it's such an achievement. Plus, they're a joy to watch, so much energy and enthusiasm. I wonder why they got such low PCs.

Congrats to Narumi and Mervin for their second place finish, it's a great result, and considering Japan has no tradition in pairs, it was really an achievement.

Anna Ovcharova is currently in first, with Kanako 2nd and Polina A. in 3rd. We'll have to wait for the vids and articles, but I'm a bit annoyed with Kanako and Polina A.'s relatively low TES since they most likely received a UR call on their 3-3 (and as the case with so many ladies, would have ironically scored higher if they just went with the 3-2). Polina S. and Kiri are yet to skate; Christina Gao popped her combo into a 3T-1T and is currently in 7th place as a result.

I wouldn't call it a total meltdown. Polina S. landed the 3Lz-3T but like Kanako and Polina A. probably got the second 3T downgraded. She also popped the flip apparently.

It was a fantastic event for Japan - two golds and one silver!
Russia and China also had a good showing here. Not the best Jr. Worlds for the States though - Agnes's silver and that's it.

I can't wait to see Phil Hersh's take on this; I still vividly remember his poorly-researched article a year ago on Jr. Worlds 2009 when he foolishly stated that the Japanese skating program has no successors in the junior ranks (which is such an ignorant statement and indicative of Phil's "expertise"...or lack thereof regarding the sport). Oh Phil~~~♪

Still kind of eh at the ice dance placements. I/K were really just amazing, but P/I placing so high, the Shibutanis not making the podium, and even the fact that I/K received all level 4s is just a little after watching the programs.
