No one started this topic before? I can't wait to see Mao at nationals!!! I know we don't want her to be under pressure, but c'mon... It's her last chance to qualify for worlds. I'm so nervous for her!! I don't know if she's in perfect shape, but I have good feelings about her placement

In our defense it doesn't start for a couple of days.

There was a joint interview with Mao and Kanako at the Chukyo Rink with new practice footage a few hours ago so I'm hoping we'll see snippets of that soon on YT.

I can't wait for the Japanese Nationals! I'm so excited!

I'm soo excitet and nervous, I really hope mao does have a good skate. I really can't believe that nationals are going to hapen in only a few days!! I really hope that we will see the interview soon....

^I don't know if it's just me... but I still find a little articles by Universal Sports kind of biased in general.. oh well. You're right, at least it's a good picture!

Yesterday I found CCTV4 on my tv and I thought it's japanese channel I hoped I will be able to watch nationals live, but now I wanted to check their schedule and I see it's chinese channel

who cares about the picture, as long as the content is right and not misleading! anyway this time it's okay. someone mentioned that mao had a new interview with kanako does anyone have a link, and has it even been uploaded on youtube

The article focuses too much on Mao and the "what-if" scenarios. What if she doesn't skate well? What if she makes it to the podium but doesn't defend her championship? What if, what if, what if.

Well, it cannot be helped. This is a difficult time. I'm sure a lot of people are curious about what would happen. It creates... drama, I guess.

Still, I feel so nervous for Mao. I want her to win this championship, or even just be on the podium, but then again, I'll be proud of her no matter how badly she skates.

well no matter how the outcome will be we are and will always support maos decision, be cause I know what she is doing now is the right thing and the right time. one thing is for sure it's gonna be a really big fight for the spots, and it's going to be nerveracking to watch. now that I think about it, I am not even sure I will be able to watch it live because I usuelly use the russian stream, but if anyone has any website were they will show nationals live please post it!!

They say that Mao isn't in perfect form this seasons but that is because she's relearning her jumps from scratch.

Mao says that her condition is improving. Her axel is not always clean but the other jumps are OK. She 's hoping her axel will get better by Nationals.
Looks like they cut part of Mao's interview.

If her axel is still unstable, I wonder if she'll omit it in her SP? It's too big of a risk to do it in her SP and she really doesn't need it. I hope for the best for Mao. I just don't want her to feel too pressured to perform to expectations next week.

why would they hae cut some of her interview? does it mean mao have hae said something about her condition rigt now that they are trying to hide?

When I read your message, I immediately looked for it, so thank you! I don't know what to say about Mao's condition currently. I'm just glad that....the puzzles pieces are falling back into the right places. I mean, she knows she's on the right track. Sometimes when we fall in life, we question if we're doing anything wrong or what we did to deserve this, etc. I feel as if in the beginning, Mao felt that way, but during the interview, she seemed so much calmer, not just outside but within herself most likely. Whatever happens in nationals, I will always think of her as one of the best female skaters that ever skated on the ice. Thank you so much for the translation! It helps to know her progress before nationals!

So her flip & lutz are OK? Nice to hear it, I was affraid about them even more than about triple axel.

One year ago she turned one of her 3A into 2A, so I believe she will do it this year too. I also think it's a bit too risky, on the other hand even if she did 3A with < and fell after it, she would get more points than for clean 2A.
