It's great to see Mai introduce the skaters!
I really like Mao's eye makeup (actual overall makeup) in that video- I think she should use this style in competitions, although her competition makeup is nice too, but the way they did it in the video really highlights her eyes

hope she wont overwork herself, it sure will be a busy shedule if Mao is going to attend all those event, and prepare for 4cc and go to Canada to make some changes! anyway I really really look forward to seeing Mao again, hope the video's will be loaded very fast!

I am kind of worried about that too. Rather tight schedule for her.

I wonder if it wouldn't be better if Lori came to japan instead?

anyway canøt describe how much i look forward to seeing Mao in 4CC, does anyone know if Mao will show some of her old exhibitions in those shows, because if i remember right they have to do two performances in the show!

Exactly! Which is why I can't wait until she retires so she'll go back to skating with pure joy, and not have to follow rules made by judges who have never skated on their skating levels. Mao skating at exhibitions are far more magical then in competitions, because she skates from the heart, and not to win or according to some rules.

well as much as i understand your viewpoint and as much as I LOOOVE Mao's exhibitions I find myself loving her competitive programs just as much if not even more. competitive skating without Mao I can't even imagine that! so I love the way it is right now, we are really spoiled we get to see her in so many competitions and in quite a few shows, what more could a fan ask for. by the way I think Mao herself enjoys competing alot, the way she smiles and her expression after every performance really shows how much skating means for Mao!

and i love seeing her compete lol, she makes every competition so much more exciting! her presence there is unmatched and her programs are the only ones i always feel strongly addicted too.

What did she say in the small interview? And, she skated to Mary Poppins and... The black dress she was wearing was the one she used in the second EX?

i'm really, really, really hoping that mao's competitive programs for next seasons are as magical as her exhibitions. nobody can touch her on choreography if she does.

ITA shar-I liked Mao's skating after watching some of her competitive programs, but I fell in love with her after watching Jupiter and Caprice I also hope her next season's programs are just as good as the EX programs.

I see what you're saying ballerinamao, but I think when Mao is skating in competition, (esp. when she's going into a jump) you can see on her face as well as in her movements how much she's concentration on sticking the landings, and it sometimes messes with the flow. I agree that her comp programs are very beautiful, but while Mao's concentrating on getting everything right, she sometimes loses the flow and passion in her performances.

She does better in ex. because theres no pressure, not because the programs are better. But I think shes doing alot better in competition now, thanks to Sato.

Mao looks lovely! And like quite a number of you I really like her exhibition programs better than her competition ones (esp past seasons) -- not because of choreography but because in exhibitions she doesn't hesitate like we sometimes see in her competition programs. She doesn't look like she's cautious to nail her jumps clean.

She gives her all in her exhibitions -- there are no reservations. Take for example that MOI EX. In her FS we saw her slowing down when she approached some of her jumps like the flip and they ended UR. But at MOI the jumps were awesome -- the height, distance, speed and quality. That 2A and flip! She did not hesitate on her jump approaches there. That's what I am hoping to see in her SP and FS.

Btw, any other reports on her performance yesterday? Do you know of anyone who went to the show?

I need to save and find a way to watch him live before he retires! Same goes for Akiko and of course, I wanna see Mao and Taka skate live!
