The first part is just a tiny bit different.

Yuna (in Japanese):
I will do my best to become the best (skater) in the world.
(Sekai-ichi mezashite gambarimasu.)

Had Yuna said "sekai-ichi mezashite gambarimasho," then it would have been what you translated.

Mao seems to have a new spin!!

Wow, amazing!

3A was lovely, spin much faster and I just love the position before the straight line step sequence.

Looks like Mao changed her flying sit spin to a flying combo. I wonder if that means she will change her change of foot combo spin to something else - she had very little time left in the choreo to do this spin and she could not get lvl4 because of that.

How is your jumps feeling in this rink??

- My jumps felt little weird still as this rink is first time for me. I think my 3axel will be better in tomorrow's practice. Hopefully next day it will be even better than tomorrow and I can bring it nice to the competition. Today my 3-3's condition was good. During my practices in USA before I came to Torino, I was also doing good on 3-3, so I would love to keep doing good on 3-3.

Did you change your program little since TEB?

- Yes. I changed my spin little bit. And also, I am planning to put 2 kinds of 3-3 in my free program. In the first half I will try 3f-3t, and in later half I will try 3f-3l. I hope to gain more points by those changes

Did you prepare something specially for the final?

- I watched all the finalists' performance of grand prix series. There are many kinds of skaters, skaters who are good at spins and skaters who are good at jumps... I watched not only ladies but also men for my study. Men's jumps are great. For ladies, Yuna's jumps are great! She does 3f-3t very high and beautifully, so I was watching her wishing I can do like her!

It seemed to me when Mao was going into the lutz, she made a movement as she has stumbled upon something. Maybe there was a hole in the ice, maybe - just the lack of self-confidence after the again-spoiled-loop in 3-3...
Anyway, whatever the case is, my confidence is still there.

I think that perhaps it's time to change or rechoreograph the SP... Starting the program with 3-3 and having all 3 jump passes in a row doesn't seem to be working. Maybe it would be better is Mao had the possibility to shake her nerves off... .

I'm confident also for tomorrow...but I also think that she should change her SP...last year, she was starting with the triple lutz which I think was giving her a lot of confidence...this year, she's starting with the 3-3 so I think that's a bit more of a nervous jump for her...
Anyway, she has obviously too much pressure on her, this is not easy to handle for a 17 years old girl...

I agree. Starting the program with the most difficult elements and doing all 3 jumps in a row is typical for some of the Russian choreography. But for the Mao, who doesn't have troubles with stamina or technique, but with nerves, I don't think it's a good choice. She does not have the time to get over the nerves, because as soon as she steps on the ice, it's 3-3... And making a mistake there can cause loss of concentration and further mistake on the next jump...

Tarasova said something like that this is not a very good idea to make a program and to leave it like this, without any further delevelopment. The second commentator said: "But someone is working with her (Mao)... Arutunian..." For that TAT hasn't replied anything.
I seemed to me Tarasova was quite upset during the whole Mao's appearance. When the guy said that "this program was choreographed by Tatiana Anatolievna (Tarasova) herself and probably she has a lot to tell us about it", she also leaved this without any comment. And the whole attitude of her towards Mao, as for me, was a bit neutral/cold.
It seems the fact that her (Tarasova's) collaboration with Mao was somewhat brief and that she doesn't have a permanent influence on the process quite bothers her.
