wow they really mess up mirai's score

Gah, I feel like Mirai deserved at least third... even with a clean Rachael, she had WAY more speed and skills than her. Ah, well, Rachael's free skate is definitely disliked by international judges (sadly, why does Rachael always choose bad skates?), so we'll see what happens tomorrow...

At last worlds, a perfect Mirai scored above a near-perfect Mao, whose 3A-2T was DG-ed. So... I was worried that the same thing will happen again here. YEAHHHHHHHH for Mao.

ETA: did Mirai get edge calls/-GOEs again? Or did she loose levels on other elements? Her TES seemed quite low for her jump layout.

I'm happy Mao's PCS is back in her usual range! But I'm still unsure about Miki beating her on PCS. I need to see the performances.

They said Mirai was from Japan Cute reaction afterward.

But I'm glad Mao did pretty well. Hope this fires her up for tomorrow.

This is a nice result so far. I hope she is able to put together a nice LP!

So, Miki gets bigger GOE on her spins than Mao. It's true Mao's spin were slow today, but still...Miki's spins aren't that good to deserve that GOE! But Mao got slightly pozitive GOE on her combo, which is strange to be honest!. The scores are a bit inflated

Mao in 2nd place? not bad... I wish her the best in the FS. I won't focus on the placements 'coz I don't think it's important now. What matters is that Mao is able to skate well with all the changes (and is continuing to make) this season.

Now waiting for YT clips...

And I hope Taka-chan skates better than yesterday and for Dai to skate lights out!

The judges are awfully generous with the spin GOEs today aren't they? This is probably the first time I've ever seen multiple ladies receive more than .80 on the flying sit.

Thanks for the link! Aw.. It seems Mao is making the similar mistakes on her 3A in the SP. I think she is still a bit too nervous going into the entrance. She needs a bit more speed going into it. Her other jumps are fine but I wish they could have made some changes in the choreography.

I actually thought Miki's spins looked really good today. The layback position was very nice. But I think Miki's score was well deserved.

MAC Users: I just found a justin.tv feed (ELTA stream which is different from the pptv link that most of us are using) after roaming around 2ch again for those who want to view the men FS which will start in roughly ten minutes.

The FS skating order is up and Mao is skating last! Not sure if it's good or not. Good Luck Mao!

I know Mao had some minor jumping issues today, but I really enjoyed her program! I thought she moved through the step sequence at a nice pace and her triple loop looked great today!

I LOVE her new dress too, it's simple yet POPS! I love the color accents . But I hope that's not just because I didn't like her other SP dresses from earlier this season

I'm also glad that the arena is more crowded than it was for ice dancing!

I thought I had no chance to see it live with my Mac...

I just watched Mao's SP again with the Chinese commentary. (Finally, I can understand what they're saying )

The commentators mentioned that Mao is very pretty and modest. One of them said she has a traditional Japanee beauty look. They said she is brave for being the only woman to try the 3A in the SP. However, they also said that her choice of SP music doesn't seem to match her sweet and sensitive demeanor. Though they did add that perhaps this can change with more life experiences.
