I think it will be interesting to see this competition cause some of the skaters are headcases that could either totally bomb or deliver!

All right. Can I rant for a minute? WHY THE HECK CAN PATRICK CHAN HAVE THE MOST UNINSPIRED PERFORMANCE AND STILL BE AHEAD OF NAN SONG BY A GOOD EIGHT POINTS!!! I'm sorry, that is ridiculous. That program did NOT deserve above an eighty.

Yes, if Dai skates like he did in NHK without quad but nice SP overall, he can get that 90 score again.
Patty's quad is becoming inconsistent this year.

well Elizveta is in the lead followed by Carolina Kostner, then Alissa and last but not least Murakami...

Carolina had this bizarre fall on her steps, and she looked like she barely made the rotation on the jumps.. alissa looked quite fragile and made several mistakes.. so like I thought these ladies are really headcases except elizveta and murakami who really delieved some nice performances... but the door is open for everyone in the final flight, and the placement can still look totally different tomorrow... I personally don't think alissa is going to medal she looked really unsecure technically... my pick for the podium will be carolina, elizveta, and murakami... the final order will be interesting to see..

I don't like Caro. i'm sure she's a very sweet girl, but every time I see her skate, i remember all the overscoring she has received over the years and it just boils my blood.( and yes, i know this isn't her fault, but I just can't help it).

Alissa has lovely spins, but it feels like she's always skating to the same type of programs, it gets boring after a while. Come on girl, try something different.

Kanako was good. nice interpretation

Liza looked much more confident today, the best I've seen her skate. (especially on the second half of the program, compared to her SP from Canada). Everything was gorgeous. She worked on her spins since then too. I loved how she took her time after landing the 3Lz before the 3T, her jumps are so good! And she performed it like she meant it, she really believes in her choreography and this is refreshing!

Not really liking the scoring and placement of the men at all.
I think I'll abstain from watching vids of the men and just stick with the other three disciplines.

one thing that I can't stand is how the judges always try to boost carolinas score I mean there was nothing exceptional about her performance and she had quite a few big mistakes that should cost her, instead she gets boosted in her PCS the judges really love her that is for sure!
and if she didn't barely land her other jump she would have had a disastrous skate!! does she really have to fall several times before the judges finally realise that the second score is too high..sigh
