I like this dress. And after hearing what a special meaning it has to Mao, I like it even more. I just don't like the illusion fabric.

Couldn't agree more. You know, I like Ashley,but to be honest I can't say her jumps are better then Mao's. Especially yesterday. Of course it's just my opinion but I'm not buying her short program at all. Ashley has quite stiff upper body and why they showed it even more by these choreo moves? I loved her attack and confidence, but other then that everything else is what I hate most of all in American style of skating. You know skating fans love to critisize Russian style of choreography like other skating schools don't have any flaws at all. On the contrary I loved Lena's perofrmance. And come on, name me a 14 old skater who is polished, sophisticated like a woman in her 20's? Lena has a great feeling of music and to my eyes she's the best of all time in ladies in that part. Just shut up Hersh

It's so absurd that he is offended about that rule bc I am pretty sure every skater has been in a situation before where they had these issues and received the full value for the jump but -GOE. Now, I would understand him if he was mad that the person two-footed or fell on the landing and still received the full value and +GOE, but this is not the case, since he saw that Mao received -1.4 GOE.

Remember what Hersh tweeted after Japan Open? He only praised Ashley, like it was the highlight of the night.  . No word about Mao or Joannie's programs. His vision is a bit different from the rest of the world's

OMG, IMO her SP is so strange. I'm not saying this because I don't like her (though I've never hidden that fact  ), but through her entire program I had a huge WTF in front of my eyes. I like the dress, but everything else... is so forced, so fake and exaggarated. I get it, you're sexy but please tone it down. Everything she does, including R&J, she 's always over the top. She's not feeling it, she's over acting it.

And than Hersh the genious, is comparing a 14 year old to Ashley. Can you imagine if Lena's team were to give her Ashley's type of choreo?!   I think an entire arena would've thrown up from horror. Lena has an amazing sense for music. Her LP performance is to die for. She's selling every freaking note of that music, and you can tell she's feeling it.  

And about Hersh venting about the point difference between his favourite and Mao; were this competition held anywhere but in USA, the score difference would've been even bigger, and rightly so. Note to Phil, next time you cry a bloody murder about Mao's supposed overscore on 3A (learn the rules you incompetent fool), do make yourself a favour, and check the protocol and overscoring of your favourite. Then compare  non jump elements side to side, and after you've done this, I dare you to say Ashley deserves those goe.

Not sure, but for what I can see her left foot left the ice "facing" the left side of the screen, so in the landing it should have faced the right side (sorry, but I didn't know how to explain it!!), but her skate touches the ice a bit earlier, not enough for the UR call but enough to receive a -GOE (considering also the little touch-down)... I think that overall Mao was judged fairly!

I know what you mean. And you've explained it better than I would've.

To me, Mao's axel looked ok, it was close to borderline, but still within the allowed "UR" landing. Too bad about the free leg touch down. But had she been clean, then poor Hersh wouldn't have anything to complain about.

This is fantastic news about her practice. I hope she'll do amazing tonight.

Does anyone know, if live stream channels, will also broadcast the exhibition?

I agree with you, I feel like she is trying to look like the gold winner at Vancouver, she is trying to portrait a sexy female character, but She just can try

I know V/T will win with yet another WR, but it'll be interesting to see, who will grab the bronze. I hope Moore-Towers/Moscovitsch will skate the lights out and put some pressure on Duhamel/Redford throughout the season. I prefer M-T/M to D/R.
