. I think Satoko can wait for the next Olympics but she showed that she's not holding back and she's ready to challenge the top skaters. It would be a pity if she has to stay home.

All of their PCS went up...Akiko got what Mao would get in international competitions, Mao's is only about 1 point higher. And seeing how Mao has the highest TES of the top 3, I don't see how she could have skated poorly. scratch

Well let's hope Mao gets her PB in the SP at the Olympics then, sigh... I'll just be patient and wait for the vids I suppose...

a tight race in the top 3 spots...i like Satoko too, but Akiko and Miki are really good as well, more improvement throughout the season. Since Miki has experienced 2 Olympics already, it would be nice to have Kanako go but she's been very inconsistent this season. Miki needs more stamina, speed and stability in her jumps and execution.

A brief interview with Mao has been added to this page (right under the report about her skating). From Google Translate, it seems that she herself believes the axel was underrotated. That might explain the low score.

No, Mao's PCS in GPF was 34.91, so should be only 0.3 higher

No, Mao's PCS in GPF was 34.91, so should be only 0.3 higher

It's Mao's PCS that separates her from the rest. Her 3A doesn't give her much advantage over other ladies' 3-3 if it's not clean.

Well....Mao has been skating last since the beginning of GP this season. So this shouldn't be a problem. Plus she can take a long time to decide on how many 3As she wants to try... Wink
