To Gracie: no, no, no, I don't really care how your current coach brain washes you to make you think you can win in Tokyo. It's not for you, not yet. Take 2 more years and I have no problem with that for you to win in Boston in 2016.

Rolling Eyes  You want to put the words in people's mouth, i.e. lie about them, on public page. But you want them not to react accordingly and not to reply on public page as well  Laughing . I have no reason to PM you since you insulted me twice on public page and not via PM. First time you twisted my words as "you say things like that to a fellow forum member just because s/he's a fan of another skater". When in fact the things were said to Genie's post "I read somewhere that Putin told the President of the Russian Skating Federation that'll it'll be nice if they win gold in figure skating after the horrible collapse of the Russian hockey team". Where do you read "Yuna" in her tabloid gossip trash on which I replied? She didn't praise Yuna. She came with Putin gossips as an "argument" against Adelina's win, which is trolling as any gossips. First time I called your reply "incorrect". But when you did the same thing twice, I can call it "lying". You didn't come just with praising Yuna in your post on which I replied. You came speaking for the whole fs community, i.e. for myself as well, by claiming that "Most of the people in the figure skating community strongly insist that the gold should have been given to Yuna". And when I asked you to privide the source of your claims that calculated the votes as "most of the people in fs community", the only thing that you could come up with is to twist my words again. It's flaming, lame as the Internet itself, exactly "passive aggressiveness" as you put it.

You wanna praise Yuna here? Go ahead and do it by praising her skating, without tabloid trash talk, Putin-gossips and your arrogant speaking for the whole fs community when you are clearly not in the position to do so. And, which is more important, without insulting forum members by putting the words in their mouths that they didn't say. It has no dignity. And it doesn't work.  No

Let's talk, everyone has right to voice their opinion, but please, be more polite. You're going out of the line.
If some members don't agree with the result, that's their choice and you don't have any right to critisize them. You can agree or disagree, not attacking them that way.

My local evening paper mentioned about Mao's 3A at GPF 2013 SP in an article on her single skate SP.  It said Mao's 3A got UR call because a tech caller from South Korea claimed UR while Amano ratified it.  The TS agreed to check the video and as a result UR call was given.

There are reports that KSF has requested that ISU conduct an investigation to check if the judging in Sochi was conducted in accordance with ISU rules and procedures. Also, it has sent a letter to IOC to take action and give official opinion.    Fried

I don't think I will ever come to terms with the UR call on her 3A at GPF 2013.  I think it gave a big blow to Mao mentally.  She felt she landed it cleanly when she nailed it.  But later she knew the TS called it UR.  South Korean caller did a great job of upsetting her sense and confidence.

LOL they now demand "fair" judgement.  clown

If that's the case then Amano is really sh*t. He WAS the TS and he let the assistant dictate to him?

I think Amano also called UR on Mao's 3A for 2010 WC too Mad

However, I believe that instead of campaigning for OGM to be 'surrendered back' to her, a thorough review and examination should be done instead after this season to improve the current system.  For Adelina and Yulia (and even Gracie!!) to have PCS anywhere near the veterans who have skated clean programs is a mockery of the sport. I don't want to see more athletes be victimized again.  Evil or Very Mad

I don't think Yuna should be "given" gold. So there is petition. I will never campaign for any medal to be surrendered "back" to her. A medal cannot belong to anyone in first place until it is earned. Her free program did not have enough technical content. I agree, Adelina, Yulia and Gracie's PCS was joke, but I think Yuna's PCS and free program score was mockery of the sport for me.

Back to my dear, Mao. I read everyone comments through whole time Mao was skating for competition. I was so so brokenhearted, depressed, no energy, shocked when I read Mao in 16th place after sp. I was so nervous I couldn't watch Mao live. But I am very glad I decide to watch LP because I wanted to respect Mao's presence. She know she was not going to medal she will be in front of everyone to compete. I think how scary, how hard how maybe if there is no more motivation left, maybe she think I mess up again? Those kind of feelings she has and she still has to skate in front of everybody. So I watch and she finish and cry, I cry with her so hard. So many emotion going through me but most is I say thank you Mao Asada. I so proud of you and so proud to be fan of you. You are a skater, athlete and human being that touched so many people's hearts. You are most memorable and moving skater for me. I love Mao's smile.

I am not out of the line. You are. Insulting forum members by twisting their words doesn't count as "disagreement". It surely doesn't count as "politeness". It counts as insult, which you should keep in mind as well. Where do you see that I "attack" someone for disagreeing with the results or just for saying "Yuna is great"? Quote me. You can't.

Unless you think that supporting Yuna means 1. tabloid trash talk like "I heard Putin told Gorshkov blah-blah", or 2. speaking for "most of fs community", naturally without providing the source of the said votes, then yes, I indeed "attacked" someone.  Laughing

Funny to see how I am having deja vu here. I used to deal with exactly the same tricks of Yunabots repeately on GS when I was defending Mao: flaming, trash gossips talks, twisting users' words, putting "=" sign between critisizing Yuna and critisizing posters, blah-blah. Now I am having the same issue here where I am defending Adelina's win. And somehow, I am automatically a bad guy.  scratch

Klarification and Polosatik, take your own advice. Stop attacking and insulting me by twisting my words. Don't put the things in my mouth that I didn't say. As I stated already- it has no dignity and it doesn't work. None of us has the right to do that. Especially elected moderators, who are neither Kinds/Queens nor dictators. Therefore, next time when you wish to address me- quote MY words, not the ones you think I said. Do NOT insult me. I hate it. I hope it's clear now?  Question

Petition is farce for media. Of course the Korean Skating Federation knows the rule- the result can be objected within 30 minutes and only in case of an arithmetical mistake. They send it to ISU just to make a fuss, knowing in advance that nothing on topic will come out. Send in Clowns, to put it short.  affraid

I didn't know that the results had to be objected within 30 minutes  Shocked  this really makes me really question them taking action now, it makes it all seem like a stunt. What surprises me was that the ISU gave an reply, because out of soo many controversial wins there usually never was any response or explanation from the ISU, so why now. this makes me wonder how much power the Korean federation has, and just how many Koreans that are part of the ISU authorities.

(especially after reading that, there was a korean referee and judge in the ladies event, and that there was another corrupt korean "specialist " in the ladies competition at the GPF, just to mention a few)

Oh my god! this is creepy...
So it could be sung:

'Don't you love farce? My fault I fear
I thought that you'd want what I want
Sorry my dear
But where are the clowns? There ought to be clowns, quick send in the clowns...'

I think, after all, I underestimate someone's ability to understand the meaning of Send in the Clown  clown
(Sorry...this is the dark side of me. I still have to say that I do appreciate Yuna's FS and her almost impeccable skating skill!)

I listen to this song over and over again and I still don't feel I understand it much even after I've read some explanations. Now I'm pretty sure that if a skater hasn't watched the play carefully and if she is not around Desiree's age, her interpretation barely scratches the surface. The vocal version is like 10 times more profound than the instrumental one, which is just like a generic lost love song. Yuna's SP was designed to please the public mass  Neutral I only see the fake melancholy in Yuna's performance but I don't see the mockery and the self-deprecating humor. Anw, I think this song is very hard to channel on the ice, especially for single skater. There needs to be another male skater since Desiree's lover is also the clown, the fool for trying to hold onto his past youth by marrying a naive young bride IMO. I guess you must be a big fan of the musical  Very Happy

Another nice mention of Mao's FS:

Quote :
Lesson 9: Always try your best.

That’s our family motto. Always try your best. In the women’s figure skating final, there was a Japanese skater named Mao Asada. She was the silver medalist in Vancouver. She was the only woman to even attempt the difficult triple axel jump – I don’t know exactly what a triple axel jump is, I just know it’s very hard to do.

During Wednesday’s short program, Asada attempted her triple axel … and fell. It was crushing. She skated as if in a fog. She fell again soon after. She was supposed to do a jump with three rotations and did one instead. It was a skating disaster, and the judges’ score of 55.51 put her in 16th place.

It was so bad that, back in Japan, the head of the 2020 Tokyo organizing committee griped that Mao Asada is “always falling at the most critical time.” It was a cruel thing to say, and word was that during warm-ups Asada was discouraged and repeatedly falling and in no condition for her evening free skate.

So when she came out for Thursday’s free skate, there was no medal hope. There was no making up for her short program. It looked like it would be a sad thing.

Instead: It was one of the most inspiring things I saw in Sochi. Mao landed her triple axel right away. And it animated her. She landed her next jump sequence perfectly, and she started to skate more quickly, and she skated a virtuoso performance. The Russian crowd – so difficult to draw out – burst into cheers.

The whole skate wasn’t for anything but pride and love and another chance to skate on the world stage. And she skated the best performance of her life. When it ended, she broke into big, beautiful tears of joy and relief. And then she had the biggest smile.

In many ways this was my favorite moment of the Olympics. If I could bring back one thing from Sochi for our girls it is this lesson. Always try, even when it seems pointless. You never know when you might do something beautiful.

I think that this piece will be forever associated with Mao for me.

Regarding Yuzu being with some grandpa at CC (and Ladies' LP as well) and not with Team Japan. The grandpa is the orthopedist with whom Yuzu is very close, so he invited him, not because he has some physical problems currently. The info is from tweeter, not media, so, take as it is.  Wink
Probably the grandpa felt uncomfortable to be with younger people of TJ, so Yuzu was accompanying him instead of hanging out with his teammates.  Smile
