| I have no words.
I don't think there's even a point for other skaters to practice or show at Olympics.

| Sigh. The judging for the ladies actually made sense (incl. Yu-Na's SP) but how the men were scored were just... I'm going to marathon fall-season anime that I've been saving up and let's see how things hold up after that. | |

I see what you mean but it's ok What people write on internet boards has hardly any effect on what will actually happen at the Olympics. Some people were also quite sure Yu-Na would be about two time world champion by now, always having the feeling this would be "her year" blah blah weren't they? Who cares, let's just enjoy Mao's skating and see what happens without fretting about it beforehand. Mao has aready proven wrong those who write her off many times before. And she can do it again

Joannie: Wow! Girls, just saw Evan in the cafeteria! *shows the direction of Evan and the cafeteria* Yu-na (excited): Evan?! Really? Mao: Come on, it's just Evan, not kimchi fried rice with chili-peppered egg tofu, you know. -P summervie, you should start some comic series on Evan or write his biography! I have to admit, in just a few posts you made me see him in a completely different light. His original sexy costumes for next season, his love for penguins... Who would have thought? I was so moved I might have become a fan

| @ BatsuchanA silvery/ white costume! I'd love to see that too I'm always stunned by how mature she looks on the ice with her make-up, especially this season. Maybe I like the gap between the mature-looking Mao and the "teenage Mao-chan" off the ice @ polosatikDon't worry... I think those comments are really fluid. I was reading the GS forums after GPF, and was surprised to see how quickly people's thoughts change. I can't remember how many negative comments I read before GPF saying "Mao has a big jump, but it's not consistent", "Mao will not be able to beat Yuna with a flutz" blah blah blah. But when she wins the title, people start saying Mao's superior. "Mao has advantage over Yuna with her two 3As", "Yuna has to skate perfectly to win. If she bombs one jump she's over, while Mao can still win even though she misses a 3A" etc, etc. @ kawaiimaoEvan loves penguins...? Wow, that changes my image towards him, too. As for Mao's injury, it was on the morning paper that she feels no pain in the right knee anymore. I'm in great hope she'll bring back her condition by Worlds. | |

| Thanks to Nanae for all the links! I think this pic is hilarious/cute: http://imgnews.naver.com/image/001/2009/02/08/PYH2009020800320001300_P2.jpgMy proposed captions: Mao/Yuna: "Uh, oh no, we weren't making plans to go sightseeing and shopping together. Yes, we'll go practice for the EX right now." OR "No, we are not twins separated at birth." Here's another interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lqsa1_BtAdkIt's my bedtime, so I won't translate the whole thing, but at the end, Mao says she will try really hard to do her personal best in the short and the free at Worlds. That's my girl, the fighter!! - mitsuno wrote:

Maybe I like the gap between the mature-looking Mao and the "teenage Mao-chan" off the ice Yeah, Mao does look so much younger without make-up! I like the gap between performance Mao and "teenage Mao" too, but seeing some of those pics with nicely made-up Joannie, I was thinking that maybe Mao should put in a little more effort for her appearance for the press conferences - she's a pretty girl, she should off her lovely face for the world. - mitsuno wrote:

| Ms. Ji-hee Lee, a korean int'l judge and also a good friend of Kim mentioned:
- Yu-na is capable of getting over 200 at 4CC. - Yu-na is injury-free all season and very confident about her skating. - Judges' opinion on Yu-na and her sales pitch to other judges for Yu-na Kim She said judges are aware that only a couple of skaters are at the top of the game and they tend to set these two skaters apart from the field. Even among the top two skaters, according to Ms. Lee, judges put Yu-na ahead of Mao. She went on to add that the judges will increase Yu-na's marks as much as they can to fully reward her techniques and skills. In conclusion, Ms. Lee got the impression from the conversation she had with the other judges that judges knew Yu-na is ahead of Mao. _________________
It's weird to hear this from a judge. I mean, is it normal to hear this from a judge. Do they usually talk about their preferences ?It looks like she means that no matter how much Mao makes an effort, Yuna will also be better than her....what a comment.
