| I am already feeling nervous for Mao's LP. Before I wasn't so much, but since my expectations have risen considerably, I am getting jittery again. The LP is tougher because she has to face the 3A and her nemesis: the lutz. I really want to see Leibestraum skated to near its potential, because I know it'll be beautiful. | |

- I saw she popping it at practice too if I am not mistaken. She has some problems with her axel, I don't know how she wants to go for the 3A but well
To her credit, she did land (visibly underrotated) ones as a novice years ago back when she was 12. Mai used to land underrotated ones as well when she was competing on the junior circuit. It's probably just a strictly-for-practice thing these days though like Mao's 4S, since Kanako said that her goal for next season is to get her 3F-3T consistent. The free skate will begin in roughly 6 hours and 30 minutes from now. Good luck to Mao and all the other ladies!!

| Approximately what time is the final group skating? I just want to estimate because it'll be really late here, but I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY WANT TO MONITOR MAO NEWS!!!!!!
Also, if anyone has updates from Twitter or from other websites during the final practice sessions before the free skate, please post it!

Thanks god, they finished on the podium !!!!! Nobu finished ahead of Dai with these falls? Well, nats are always weird. I think they should deduct more when a skater falls. This may sound amateur like, but falling is the worst thing a skater can do during a performance, when you consider those who are watching. FS is a sport based on the fact that there will be an audience appreciating the performance both technically and artistically. All the viewers are driven back into reality with that real bad feeling once they see a skater fall. It's not just a technical failure, but falling also ruins the atomosphere and the magic in the performance. Changing the rules to be more easy on URs is IMO a great decision, but making it more easy on falls I think was a bad choice. URs may be a technical failure, but it doesn't ruin the performance altogether for the audience, but as I've said falling does so they should be strictly deducted. To me, FS is a kind of 'performing sports'. So how mistakes enfluence the viewers should be considered more seriously. But since I'm Nobu's fan, I'm glad he made the podium. Nobu, Dai and Taka on the podium, in whatever order is fine with me. Now, sorry to bother you guys about something personal, but my PC broke down last night. I'm borrowing my husband's PC to post this right now. I'm trying everything to fix it, but it seems there's some trouble in the hardware, so I'll probabaly have to exchange some parts and that's going to take some time. I won't be able to post much for a while, but I will be watching Mao skate tonight and will be sharing (hopefully) all the joy of her victory just like all of you here. I may not be able to return until after New Years, but best wishes to all during the Holiday Season! I thank all active members for letting me spend time with you here this whole year.

Too bad that your PC has broken down. I hope it will fix soon without costing a lot. I agree with you about fall and its negative impact on performance. It indeed ruins excitement, as you say. But, on the other hand, I can understand the opinion that it's not fair if a skater who cheats chronically is overlooked and allowed to win a game. I hope they will eventually define rules that also factors in the audience. I thank you for your always wonderful input. I wish you a happy New Year and looking forward to reading your posts again!!
