| Go Taka! Show them what you've got! But uh, I don't know who I should be rooting for right now. I want Dai to win, but I want to cheer for Daddy Nobu too. Then there's cute Yuzuru, who has a good chance of medaling if he gets his act together. AH~ The deep field of Japan! Uh-oh. Shin Amano. I wonder how he will deal with Mao. | |

Uh-oh. Shin Amano. I wonder how he will deal with Mao. No need to worry - he's not on the panel for the ladies. Thank goodness. Yuzuru did score over 160 in the FS in Regionals so he has a very strong shot at making the podium depending on how Tono and Dai skate but the latter two always had amazing score potential should they skate relatively cleanly. Kozu has a considerable point cushion so he has the advantage at this point in terms of winning the title. We'll see what'll happen! ETA: linglang beat me to it.

| Nobu's wife and baby were there. Lovely Nobu, you will have to make it tomorrow!! Nobu's technical score was over 40 with two deductions. Nobu said he was confident to land 4T but couldn't land it. It affected him mentally. He will make sure to land quad tomorrow. And ... no Tatuki Fuji TV aired only six skaters for two hours, didn't it??? Am I counting wrong??? | |

Am I counting wrong??? The quiz segment that gobbled up more than 40 minutes of the 2 hour block certainly didn't help. Kento Yuzuru Dai Kozu Takahito Tono Yup, just 6. Fuji TV reached an all time low in my eyes today.

Love his face when the scores came up... He just came soooo close to spitting that water out! Would have been hilarious, if a little embarrassing for him and dude behind the camera. But seriously, a fantastic skate! And a level 4 on the steps! He didn't even know that before the interviewing lady mentioned it! Happy for him for finally breaking through. Hope Mao gives him a hug and a big kiss after that!

His 3A is so huge and steps are wonderful! I'm kind of relieved that I'm not the only one who still thinks highly of Mura! People paid alot of attention to him during Dai's absence, but since then it seems like nobody cares much about him anymore... He's still got alot to improve, but I think he's getting better and better compared to 2 seasons ago. He jumps great 3As and even quads sometimes, and knowing how unstable his jumps used to be, he must've practiced very hard over the past years. I personally think he needs a better choreographer, but I quite like this season's pros just as linglang. He still has lots of potential, so I hope he can be in the spotlights again soon. - linglang wrote:

And ... no Tatuki
Fuji TV aired only six skaters for two hours, didn't it??? Am I counting wrong??? I adored Shintaro in that teddy bear suit! And I finally found out what Nobu's wife is like. I was glad she was smiling with her baby after Nobu's performance. I had the impression she might be mentally stronger than Nobu in a way...that's good because you should be pretty mentally strong to marry a skater. Even mere fans like us are too scared to watch skaters jump sometimes, and always fear we might have a heart attack because of the sport someday. So imagine what it's like to be family to a skater! I'm relieved she looked like a strong woman! That's exactly what Nobu of all skaters needs in a wife... I'm sure Nobu wasn't satisfied with his SP, but he didn't seem down about it, and seemed to be looking forward to delivering well in FP. I think he's changed a bit. He's become more positive. I'm sure his family is giving him the strength to be like that, and maybe the fact that his mother doesn't hang around in K&C anymore might have something to do with it as well. I'm not sure if Dai still has a chance of winning. Some newspaper article here has already written it's impossible for him to catch up to Takahiko. I wouldn't say it's impossible, but he would need to skate almost perfectly and have Takahiko make some mistakes. It's pretty much the same for Nobu, too. I was so amazed by Yuzuru this time, not just because of his jumps but because he performed the pro very artistically. Still, I'm not so sure he can do as well in FP. If Dai can manage not falling even with poor landings as in SP, and he can pull himself together and do something about those faulty spins, I still think he has more than enough chances for making the podium and making Worlds. Even if Yuzuru makes like 3rd place and Dai misses the podium in 4th, I still think JSF will consider sending Dai to Worlds more than Yuzuru. I'm rather afraid that Nobu might mess up his FP again, if not by breaking the Zayak rule or torn shoelaces, by some other unbelievably stupid and unfortunate reason we can hardly imagine, which might lead to him missing the podium. But in his case too, he will still be considered one of the top candidates for Worlds I think. Takahiko will never miss the podium unless some terrible meltdown happens. I imagine Takahiko can take the pressure, but where he is right now reminds me of Yukari. I remember 2 seasons ago, she made 1st place in SP at Nats. But the next day, nerves got to her, she gave in to tension and melted down totally. Takahiko can probabaly handle the situation better than her, but he'll have to fight his nerves as much as Yukari had to. In FS, anything can happen...we know it, and the skaters all know it.

| I'm somewhat new to these forums, so hello! Super excited (and nervous) for men FS and ladies SP. Thank you to everyone who has been kind enough to give we-without-livestream the PBP!!! Life and sanity savers! Ditto on the rose-bra thing... a friend of mine (similar build to mao) would add such designs to her dresses. she dubbed them 'boobie enhancers'... Personally think the dress looks just fine without! BTW, does anyone know what Sato-sensei says to Taka right before he starts his SP? Something..."...please. ok?" | |
