Anyone knows the official practice hours? Here is the official schedule: http://www.isuresults.com/events/FC2012_ColouredTimeSchedule.pdfThe first ladies practice is today! Maybe we will learn whether Mao is there or not. I trust that Mao and her team know what they are doing She is a professional athlete after all and knows her body best. Her aim is to perform the best possible, so her strategy must have been thought over a lot. So I agree with polosatik, let's not panic and concentrate on cheering for Mao Another thought though: since Taka is in the States too, maybe they all (Taka, Mao and the Satos) went together? And Mao is in the USA for a couple of days already?

But Takahiko just finished entering (and winning, of course) the Japan Sports Association FS Competition on the 30th of last month. Is he already in the States? So, I'll say it again... Where is everybody right now!!!!!?????It's as if the whole Japanese team is missing! Did they get lost in the Bermuda Triangle or something? Found another article on 4CC in Japanese: http://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=20120207-00000093-spnannex-spoBut like the other one, it only mentions that Mao, Kanako and Haruka will be entering the ladies competition in 4CC soon, and that Mao's 3A is assumed to be 'almost completed', and that she's one of the stongest of candidates to win in this competition. Boring article, I have to say... We do have another day or so till official practice, and once that starts and should Mao be there, the news articles must start being uploaded. But usually the Japanese press try to catch and interview Mao when she leaving the airport for a competition, or when she arrives in the competition holding country's airport. So, it's either Mao hasn't left Japan yet (same for Dai and Kanako who're both popular amongst the press), or...even the press has no clue where our 4CC entering skaters are right now. It's very strange this time cause Dai at least, usually arrives in the competition holding country early, and we'd get news on him before we have anything on Mao. But this time, there's absolutely nothing even about Dai! I think maybe our skating Fed might be keeping the press away from all Japanese skaters for some reason. Well, we'll just have to wait...

Well, we'll just have to wait... Haha, same here Pochi. I've been wondering exactly the same thing where are they now!? Where is Dai-chan now? Japanese press may not care about Tatuki and Mura, but it was reported by Icenetwork that Kanako was interviewed at the airport. But, as of now there is no news article about her arrival in the States by Japanese media. None. And on top of that, the posted link by Icenetwork in its tweet does not exist anymore. You may guessed right, Pochi. It may be tactics or something by JFS, or Japanese media has run out of resources to send reporters out there.

Yep! You might be right linglang...there's been enormous amount of news concerning baseball here for the past few days, and esp today. All about new coaches and managers for pro baseball teams within Japan. They're not even writing about any games cause it isn't even baseball season, but it seems most sport newspapers have been sending their reporters to baseball training grounds...so, running out of resources in that sense, maybe so! | For those who can watch Japanese TV, Fuji's Sporto just announced that they will show Shizuka interviewing Mao on tomorrow's sporto. They also said it is -8deg in Colorado. Let's be patient.

| It's official practice day here in the Springs. I think she is already here, just no news of her yet. And yes, it's below freezing (quite normal, in all honesty) and snowing quite hard. | |

thanks for lady_in_black. In addition, i also saw ppl crying about Ms. Pirjo UIMONEN in ladies' event, but I am not familar with her. then I google her then found out she is also notoriouss for "downgrading jumps", but I don't know how true that is. but the Amano is very notorious being cruel to Japanese skaters, I heard about him from time to time even in my local forum.

I know! That made me angry, too! Based on the outcome, it was obvious that there were categories, unless it's a mere coincidence.

| I wonder if sending a petition to jsf so that Amano will never be allowed to judge any competition anymore could work. (are judges sent by their country's federation?) | |

I know! That made me angry, too! Based on the outcome, it was obvious that there were categories, unless it's a mere coincidence. Ditto! In his case, I hate to have to say it, but he's being a bully on purpose. And he only does it mostly to skaters who showed special talent since they were young; the ones people call geniuses. It's been said that he called the new scoring system (after the 6.0 days) 'A system which non-geniuses can win too', and at this point I think that's what he really wants to happen in every competition. He himself used to be a single and pair skater in the 90's, and aside from winning Nats once as a single skater and once as pairs, his competing career wasn't all that great. He went to Worlds the year he won Nats, but ended up in 28th place as a single skater. Went to Olys the year he won Nats as pairs, but ended up in 20th place. He entered NHK Cup 3 times as a single skater, and his best rank was 9th, and when he entered as pairs only once in NHK Cup he was ranked 8th. He started pairs in the last season of his career, and in Japanese Wiki it says that he failed most of the lifts and jumps in Olys, he gave up and retired. So my guess is, he didn't do so good in singles, so decided to try pairs, but failed from the start and dropped out. He definitely wasn't a genius type skater, and that's probabaly why he hates those who are IMO. Btw, he looks like this... He's a 38yr old envious Salieri, I suppose... And FIY, this photo is from Yukari's fan blog ( http://goyukarin.exblog.jp/6790189/ )...yes, Amano is smiling happily with Yukari and Sato by his side! I guess he liked Yukari alot since she used to say 'I'm no genius type skater, all I can do is practice' several times to the press during her competing days. And if Amano had a good relationship with Sato...no wonder he's not doing tech specialist for ladies in 4CC! Not only Sato is coaching Mao now, but his daughter is coaching Haruka, too! - dangerous_angel_face wrote:

I actually believe that many have done that already, and maybe that's why he's only going to be assistant tech specialist in mens this time. And I'm not sure where he lives right now, but at least for a while he used to live in Canada. So, I'm eager to see how he'll be judging Pattie's techs. Amano should be very strict to Pattie too though, cause even with his big mouth, Pattie is a natural born skater with the best edges of the world and genius considering how he achieved his 4T so quickly. If Amano is sweet on Pattie, it won't fit his pattern which will probabaly cost him his 'serial killer' of figure skating judgement award! ETA: And okay...now we know where everybody is. But arriving on the 7th!? Well, I hope to god that Mao and Dai decided to do so with some brilliant plan...

That's great news. I can't even begin to tell you how much I HATE THIS MAN! I never heard of Ms. Uimonen, but if she tends to downgrade jumps, I hope she's fair and she'll be strict with everyone and not just with certain skaters, like Amano. I still don't understand what Amano was smoking at 2011 worlds.
