Y'all know what's gonna come after this right?
Mao haters are gonna lose their SHIT. They're gonna complain like their momma's lives be depending on it... and don't get me started on what The Skating Lesson is gonna say about this. From what I've seen... Dave Lease doesn't really believe in Mao.
Let's hope Yuna isn't gonna be overscored in her FS to make her look so damn superior to Mao. Holy cow, I wasn't even aware of this. Awesome! Yuna is going to get overscored, it's a B intl. I don't know why Mao is so nervous, but maybe Amano's screw up judging from yesterday had the affect.[/quote]

I don't know why Mao is so nervous, but maybe Amano's screw up judging from yesterday had the affect. It was Yuna during the 2009 World Championships. What worries me is that Yuna gets really really high scores in her FS. I feel like in the SP, she and Mao are head to head. In the FS, Yuna gets 140's.

| I guess depending of the nationals performance she will decide if she needs 4cc or not. And her 2a-3t was really good and got 6 +2 goes and she got all level 4

| Mao_Asada_sunrise: I agree with you. That's why I was saying it would have been beneficial to Mao's momentum had she scored 140+ in her FS here in this GPF. She's never broken 140.
However, we have to remember that Mao was trying a new layout at this competition.. and 2 3As. Which means... she and her team have learned something from this GPF. They're gonna rethink this strategy and see if it's really worth it. If she did the layout from NHK and Skate Ameria, even without the 3-3, with just 7 triples, i'm pretty sure she would've have broken 140 because her PCS was just getting higher and higher. At NHK, she scored 136 with a double salchow and 70 PCS. She landed the 3S here so she would've gone over 140 I think.
I personally prefer if Mao fixed her 3F-3Lo but let's be honest... it's easier said than done. The way Mao sees it, it's easier for her to fully rotate the 3A-2T than the 3-3 combo.

Yes, the impression I've got from watching a few of their blogs, is that Jenny is a Yuna fanatic, to a point where she disregards qualities in Mao's skating, but Dave appears to be a Mao fan.

Let's hope Yuna isn't gonna be overscored in her FS to make her look so damn superior to Mao. Well, from the few videos I've seen of their "lessons" they're pretty tame on Mao but when you read the blogs and their tweets, you know they don't believe in her and love to put her down. Yuna will be overscored in Zagreb no matter what she does there.

The good thing is that Mao has nationals coming up. I don't know when... Will someone tell me? Lol! She does have nationals coming up. Because she's in such great stance (being the only Japanese lady in the GPF, medaling in World last year, etc.), she'll be a risk taker and go all out during nationals with a layout that she's probably going to use for Four Continents and Olympics.

Yuna will be overscored in Zagreb no matter what she does there. And the funniest thing is, that this "hate" comes from a woman who had a meltdown at her world championship. She never cracked a top 10 nor did she had a 3-3, let alone 3A. She reminds of Amano.

| I want to watch Mao's program, I'm sooo happy for her. What does 3a< SEQ in the protocol mean? Is it beacause her second 3a wasn't in combination, it's treated like sequence? Edit: Here's the link to FS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBgfp8PUSKA | |

| Mao should go for the 3F+3Lo. Adelina got hers ratified although -GOE because the Lutz was a Flutz and that's with Amano as TS.
Hey, Amano ratifies the first 3A (sadly that was a fall) but URs the second one which was overrotated. UR for an overrotated 3A?

Well it depends on the landing. maybe the blade touched the ice at the UR position and then she overrotated ot on the ice. If not, than this is just stupid. And he should've ratified the one yesterday!

I don't know why Mao is so nervous, but maybe Amano's screw up judging from yesterday had the affect. I think she was simply nervous because she was trying a new layout for the 1st time, and attempting 2 3As is quite risky, not just because it's difficult to do 2 3As one after another, but also because it's easy to Zayak oneself. For example, bcause Mao fell on the first 3A and underrotated the second one too much to add 2T, she lost a combo pass (and couldn't attempt 3F-3L or 3F-2L), and her 2nd 3A was marked as SEQ and lost 20% BV in addition to the UR deduction. I hope this will make Team Mao realize that it's better to go for one 3A, and if Mao wants a challenge, she should go for the 8 triples one. :)She already landed 2 3As at Vancouver, and can do it again in pro competition if she feels like it! With 3F-2L and 3Lz her score would possibly be over 140 (if there wasn't too much -GoE on 3Lz and PCS went up a bit for a visibly cleaner performance)! With landed 3A - even better

Hey, Amano ratifies the first 3A (sadly that was a fall) but URs the second one which was overrotated. UR for an overrotated 3A? Whoa..... I didn't even realize that. At least he ratified the first! I heard Mao underrotates her loops though. Plus, she under rotated her 3F+2L+2L. I'm concerned if she goes for 3-3. However, she really needs that 3-3 to reach 140's FS status like Yu-na. Yet, if she skates cleanly without UR in any of her jumps in her current layout, she'll reach 140.

If he did, he wouldn't have said that Mao WAS NOT going to win the Sochi Olympics in their Grand-Prix Wrap Up video on their website. He said that Japan is probably not gonna win any gold medal in any discipline in Sochi. For Mao, he said she's not gonna win because Yuna is coming back.
