| I was reading a few articles and I found this one with a hilarious comment about Tessa and Scott http://www.latimes.com/sports/olympics/la-spw-skate6-2009feb06,0,2923952.story - Quote :
- Virtue and Moir won the Canadian title two weeks ago, their first competition since Virtue underwent surgery on both shins on Oct. 6 to alleviate pain from chronic exertional compartment syndrome. While she recovered, Moir "replaced" her with various objects--including a sand bag.
"I think it was like 300 pounds," he said. "It doesn't take much sand to make you feel pretty tired after a minute of skating.
"It was a pretty big-sized bag, but it's nice to get Tessa back. It's a lot more fun to skate with her than with sand." A sand bag?! Too bad there aren't any photos of that

Girls, just saw Evan in the cafeteria! *shows the direction of Evan and the cafeteria* Yu-na (excited): Evan?! Really? Mao: Come on, it's just Evan, not kimchi fried rice with chili-peppered egg tofu, you know. -P

| Chengjiang Li is looking good too with a quad-double combination and a 3A... But the rest of the program is a bit blah. Lacking in energy. The crowd seems to like it. The costume? Not so much... That light violet ruffle on his shoulders is a rather disturbing choice IMO
119.72, season's best. Into 4th.

| Oops, missed the other chinese guy... Wu, I think.
115.17... into 4th.
Yasuharu up next.
This is not going very well... held on to the first 3A, doubled the second one and tried another one later on but fell badly. Looks like he hurt himself too... The crowd tries to cheer him on, but the jumps just aren't there anymore. 98.47... Ouch... Into 6th.

| Nice skate from Kozu! I missed the quad but it seems he missed it? 2nd 3A was two-footed but fully rotated I think... And Kurt raves on and on about the quality of his knees and how well he uses "the power of the blade" lol
Quad might be underrotated.
145.15!! 221.76 overall. Credit for the quad, second 3A downgraded. Into 2nd.

I'll try to keep you updated then. Patrick started really well. 3A and 3-3 combination were awesome. Footwork gorgeous as usual but he singled the 2nd 3A. I don't know if it's the music but I am much less into this program than I was in the short... He's doing really good though and the crowd is right behind him, he should score well enough and he has a nice cushion...

| Pretty good skate from Kozu. 4T (fall) was probably UR, which is a pity, because he definitely had enough energy left today - everything was really crisp, and his spins were the fastest I've seen this season from him. ...and the judges yet again give him the cold treatment with a 70.60 for the pcs.... | |

| OMG... 160.29 for a program with only one 3A and no quad?! I love my Canadian skaters but this is pushing it awfully far... | |

That is rather frustrating... I can't believe that was 10 points less good than Patrick's skate PCS-wise. But what really bothers me even more about this competition is Patrick's outrageous TS... I want to see those protocols. I didn't feel he was on, he only landed one 3A and he was somewhat wobbly on some landings in the second half of the program...

| The world is going crazy, sorry but for that program 160? Mao can do that, no problem...gosh... if it would be like that at Olympics, I just don't want to watch men's event. | |

ETA: Plushy got a lvl 4 CiSS in that SP too, IIRC.

| Nobu is looking good! Fell on the quad but looked fully rotated and stepped out of his second 3A, but these looks like his only mistakes so far... Logically, this should score higher than Patrick, technically, but that remains to be seen... | |

He was rewarded with tech scores higher than Plushy at Torino in the SP (who landed the 4T-3T) so I was expecting it. Yes I was expecting him to be overscored, but not by that much. This is actually shameful. I thought it would be more realistic seeing as the women's free was really well judged. Doesn't look like it. Nobu 145.22, 220.26. Into 4th. Kozu finishes on the podium.
