Is she eating a baby shark? I've eaten a lot of strange things in my life, but I haven't had shark.

BUT, more importantly, doesn't that seem like A LOT of food for just one person? Even if Mao's manager was with her, that's still a lot of food for TWO people--soup, lobster, shark (?) and crab legs (?)...

So, you know what? I'm just going to imagine that Taka-chan was there sharing the meal with Mao! We know that he loves watching "Liebestraume," so I will just pretend that he took a little vacation to go cheer Mao on.

Batsuchan, nice to see you around and I miss all your fanfic I've eaten a lot of strange things in my life too, so when I saw the pic ...I don't think about what that is. we eat shark here but it is cut in pieces not serve whole shark --> or we may need huge plate

Yes, thanks to polosatik for solving the mystery! I figured you or one of our other Russian members would be able to help me out.

As for the Mr. Sato theory--I think that if he were there, he would be in the pictures--the same way Mao and Taka are in each other's pictures from Hokkaido. So the fact that the other person isn't photographed means that it's someone who wants to stay anonymous--like a) Mao's manager, or b) Mao's mom (does she still go to all of Mao's competitions?), or c)....TAKA-CHAN!!!!

Hmm, how? It's a fish which lives in fresh water, and it's from pikes genus. It's not a baby shark!

Woa!! did Mao eat that ? is it a popular russian dish Polosatik ? I like fish but when it comes with head and tail....But I wonder how it tastes.

How? Because shark (акула) is a big female monster and pike (щука) is a baby female monster . (: for non-Russian speakers: both Russian words are of feminine grammatical gender.) Of course it was a joke.


And replying on another poster's question. Currently this fish is not as popular as it used to be a hundred years ago (not in Russia only, it was one of the most popular dishes in England!). Mainly because the choice on the market nowdays is incomparably wider. Still it is served, and even deemed as a delicatessen. In spite of its horrible nature and cannibalism, the meat of the fish has only 2-3% of fat, and therefore it counts as a diet product.

It's a popular among fishermen!! And like let's talk said, it's not as popular as it used to, but is still counts as high category fish and product

I am so nervous cause i really want Mao to have two clean skates, and what making me worried is that everyone in every interview she has had has been asking her about the 3A and when she plans to put it back, cause i don't want Mao to rush and put it back if it's not completely ready! or atleast go safe i the sp and the do it in the fs..

I know what you mean. The Japanese media is really annoying. They constantly ask her 'r u gonna jump 3A ?' 'when can we see it ?' and they mostly show her jumps. PLEASE leave her alone ! I hope Mao doesn't watch news on TV.

Personally, I pefer Mao to opt for a 2A because with her Sal and Ltz still unstable, if she pops her 3A, there would be too many mistakes and program itself will not look good. And I think it's important for Mao to win this GPF.

Can't wait. Any more news about Mao ??

i completely agree i also am so eager to see Mao win this competition with the 3A or without it, but like you said I want her to focus on her other jumps especially the 3L 3S and 2A-3T cause those jumps are big points getter, which is also why Mao brought them back in her program, she already has a lot to concentrate on, and like we saw in the practice clips the 3A takes alot of her focus..

Oh, no. I hope Mao's mum feels better soon. That's really awful news - I wonder what illness could be sudden enough for Mao to learn about it just now and serious enough for her to withdraw and leave for Japan immediately.
