IMO, Caro's PCS should be higher than Julia's. Julia has a much harder TES content, but in SS and TR and othe,r Caro is better, and that's OK. She 26 after all, Julia only 15.

While I'm still not Julia's fan, she does have two great programs this season. Much better than Adelina's.

I'm curious to see Scherezade again. At CoC, I didn't like it. To me Caro isn't Scherezade, she can't portray this type of character very well. IMO of course. And I hope she changed that awful costume.  

I think that if Caro skates a clean LP her PCs will be around 70 like Mao at NHK...or maybe higher. It will be interesting to see if the fact that she's not reigning world champion anymore will affect her scoring in that department, but I don't think so. Anyway, even Caro with some mistakes will get higher PCs than Julia...and I'm sure that judges will try to help her a little bit after Mao breaking 130 in both her previous GP events.

But Julia is skating on home turf. She may not get as high as Caro's PCS but she'll still get something pretty high. I hope Caro finally skates clean here so that we'll have at least a competition but reading new tweets now... I shouldn't raise my hopes too much. I also hope Kanako will do better and nail her programs.

I agree with you. She just isn't Scheherezade. Caro is a very elegant skater with amazing skating skills but she is not good portraying characters. Nothing wrong with that, but if you choose to skate to Scheherezade everyone will be expecting some "acting". She is much better skating to other types of music IMO, I loved her Shostakovich SP two seasons ago.

I'm confused, is this recent...when did Caro compete? And is the video posted on YouTube yet?

But the COR competition proper doesn't start until tomorrow. Might it be run through during practice?

Sounds like the Kostner from a few years ago  

That's most likely from practices. I'm hoping for better practices before the competition.

As for Javi, has he said anything else about judges telling him to go back to Chaplin? It's Olympic season, and Chaplin was a really good program for him (can't say the same about the new one  ) so I think he should consider that option. I know it's not an easy choice, though...I suppose he has paid Wilson a big amount of money for the new programs.

I personally think that Wilson is very overrated.  I also hate Ashley' s new program by Wilson. I think her last 2 free programs were much better. Not to say how much I can't stand all of the over dramatic arm flailing and face scrunching that Yuna makes being called perfect performances. As if...

I think that Wilson has choreographed some really nice programs but in the last few years it's obvious that he has been running out of ideas. It depends on the skater too. Chaplin was a very good program IMO, but Yuzu's LP last season for example was not up to par...this year's is not exceptional either. I agree with you on Ashley's programs, she has skated to better LPs. I have the feeling that Wilson has decided to give his best programs to Yuna...we'll see...

Hmm not too sure if anyone is following but a huge huge huge score from julia 72.24 points, which is massive! Caro in 2nd, with 67.74 and Mirai 60.44 Agnes 60.45 and Eliza all 60.1ish really close to each other!! o:

Just finished watching the ladies sp.  Sorry, Julia's score was way too high.  She scored almost 4 pts more in pcs compared to Skate Canada.  I really didn't think her performance was that much better here.  Carolina's score was a bit lower than I thought... I thought she'd hit closer to 70 (or more) when she skates clean, but I guess that didn't happen.  She's going to have to work very, very hard for an Olympic medal.

I was pleasantly surprised to see those I wasn't expecting much from to skate a fairly clean program.  Mirai did well!  I thought she was lowballed a bit here, but I hope she can skate clean in the LP.  

I felt so sad for Kanako, it looked like she was holding back tears.  She totally botched her 3-3 combo.

PCS 32+ is a joke to me.

My screen froze just as I was about to watch her skate, but total score is like as much as Yuna's and Mao's? o.o so I was quite shocked, how did her reputation rise so much in a few weeks?
